I just notice that the leather has pulled away from right around the window switch on the drivers door. The leather feels reall tight ... is that common.

Sounds like the leather is shrinking, not much you can do but recover the door.

I didn't think there were new ones available, but you should ask Daniel from Ricambi (click on sponsor ad). Daniel's service is simply incredible and he can help you find anything you need. Your 348's best friend :)

I have the same problem and according to the research I've done, you need to get them recovered with similar leather and that seems to run about $1000 for both doors, although that is highly dependant on who does the work.

Had this problem with mine. I think it affects TS's more as they're often left out in the sun without the roof on.

Remove the panel along with the window switch and VERY VERY carefully peel back the leather from the top down where it goes inwards towards the window switch.

Make sure you have peeled back about 12" in lenght and down as far as the base of the window switch. Keep this whole leather area separated from the door card (i used some chopsticks :) and spray liberally with an aerosol of high strenght carpet adhesive. Let this go off for a minute or two and then smooth the leather back in place from the bottom upwards (making sure you remove the chopsticks :))

Ensure you remove all of the bubbles and re-affix over the edge of the door card. Job done

I have one for the right side of a RHD drive car that was recently recovered in italian leather. The skin I used was big enough for four pieces so I ordered some old ones and had them covered too. It's black and perfect if anyone is interested.
