After 550 trouble free miles my 1-4 check engine light came on, went off for a while, came back on, went off and came back on over a 2 hour trip. I replaced both O2 sensors 600 miles ago. Pulled the codes and it was 1212. When my O2 sensors went bad last time I got 1211 & 1212. This time only 1212. Anybody run into that before? Kai
1212 is MAF related. I would suggest a couple of things: 1.) check MAF resistance (instructions here or in the 348 primer) - you should be in the neighborhood of 383ohm - if you are way off you've probably found the problem. Adjust (instructions per the 348 Primer) the screw, then 2.) pull the MAF and clean it being careful not to damage the element and clean the MAF screens as well. Re-install and test drive for CEL. If you still pull CEL with same code, then swap MAFs. If the code switches sides, your MAF is probably bad. Do the test and let us know.
Swapped sides. 1-4 CEL went out, 5-8 CEL went on... I guess the MAF is bad... Thanks for everyone's input. Kai
