Speaking of french GTO's, I saw today a new french car to me, and a car for which I had no history : s/n 53765 I will post pictures later. Christian, there are at least 8-9 GTO's currently in France, but probably there are some other ones I am not aware of ! Olivier
Thanks Marcel. He was just one digit off, but thats enough to make all the difference. Im not sure if my notes are any good but I have it listed as going on to be UK-registered "B 591 OPG" for Adrian Newey. It was reported in Sports Car Market that it had a slight 'off-road' excursion *cough* .
i imagine 7/8 at least but never confirmed by Levallois Fcars...but today???? i m aware! During 1985 France received only 35 Testarossa it means 3 units by month and no more (confirmed by C Pozzi himself). So i deduced approximatively 7/8 units concerning the GTO delivery for France.
The plates "B 591 OPG" were used on 52741 in 1987 (till 1991). The manager of a well-known UK dealer crashed the car heavily whilst on a road test on the way back from Brands Hatch, damage was extensive, even the engine was knocked out of line. It was practically a total write-off but then underwent a complete restoration by Foskers of Brands Hatch. In 1994 it was on the plates "147 AM" with computer wizard Archer Mac Lean. Adrian Newey got it November 1998. He sold it December 2005 and it is now in another European country. Marcel Massini
Marcel i imagine that you have all elements for countries.....repartition by countries it s one element missing in the book of Keith Bluemel.
i have reading about 288gto : 60 cars for USA 45 cars for italy 15 cars for France edit : reading MM, my numbers are false........-)
When Bonhams sold it at their Gstaad Ferraris-only sale in 2005, it had the "B 591 OPG" registration back on it as UK-registered for Adrian Newey, as per my earlier post. It is pictured registered as such at that sale, earlier on this thread. Therefore "B 591 OPG" was not used only for the 4 years from 1987 until 1991 as your post suggests. It was used again for another 7 years for Adrian Newey during the car's 1998 to 2005 tenure with him. You may wish to amend your notes accordingly. .
This is that modified GTO with the exhausts that exit centrally (rear spoiler signed by Michael Schumacher)? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Geez, could I get it any dirtier? I'm in Modena/Bologna right now. I'm visiting Ferrari and picking up a car that has been under restoration and is being photographed at some villa in Modena before I transport its butt back to the USA. I wish I had my 288 here now. Of course, I would get just as lost..... Steve
Was the car restored by Ferrari? You didn't see a 288 GTO engine being fully rebuilt (& blueprinted) did you? It belongs to someone I know...
just condensation , it had only been running for a few minutes , seen leaving the uk ferrari owners club concours event.
And here she is again, in her heyday, sold, it is reported, by Eddie Irvine because there was no room to fit all the girls... Image Unavailable, Please Login

Paul Halford brought this GTO from England to New Zealand.... The person doing a burnout is a journalist who was given the car for a test. Same registration, but I will stop short of confirming its the same car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
