New Espada? http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/12h/www.edmunds.com//media/il/news/2005/1004/lambo.espada.500.jpg
Clearly a GT car to rival the 599GTB and the 612 Scaglietti. If done correctly, this car could easily "out-sexy" both of its F-car competitors. Performance is a completely different matter, but in terms of outright good looks, Lambo hasn't made a misstep in a decade. I would put my money on a classy GT coupé.
I agree. Though it might just be a concept car only. I still want to see the Murci SV. Hopefully they'll blind side us and debuet the SV along with this new concept.
I'm guessing thats a Reventon being delivered. Notice there is another guy in the background obviously taking pics
The reventon is under the white cloak: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214497 I think increasingly. the subject of this thread is indeed the new Espada.
I think we're talikng about two different cars. The SV and what appears to be a new front engined car. Do we think that an S.V. will NOT have CC brakes? Highly unlikely. IMHO the similarity to the Espada in my previous post is quite convincing.
You know what, it doesn't matter if they release a lawnmower because they got what they wanted and that's the press, enthusiasts and bloggers rabidly hanging on every tiny shred of information that they're leaking out. They've clearly followed the same path as Apple/Jobs and are generating the same buzz. Fantastic for Lamborghini and great for the brand and all of you that currently own the cars given how soft the market is. My guess is a 2+2 front engine diesel or hybrid based on the work done on the A8 and the diesel R8. Maybe even V12 TDI because they already have the engine but if it doesn't pass California standards then nix that idea.
Diesel... there has to be new gearbox for the car as the old ones does not cope forces involved. If engine has around 600hp think how mutch torque will there be.
Wrong. Ever since Steven Wankerman tookover as CEO he has been doing some stupid things that I highly question as to why they got him to run the business. The guy can even rival the CEO of GM in stupidity!. If its a GT coupe to rival the 599GTB this is going to be a very huge risk for them as a company. It has to be very successful at this point or else Lamborghini might as well go back to the barn with the tractors and grab a sovel and start digging there grave. I expect something like a Viper or Corvette, Elise from Lamborghini at this point to rival Ferrari's new "Affordable" Dino. Something smaller than a Gallardo with an Audi engine in it. Get it to the market quickly and unexpectedly with perhaps a price tag of 130k.
To bad they didn't make a retro Miura like they showed awhile back. I don't expect anything groundbreaking- just a slight evalution of an exisiting model.

all you have done is stated a conclusion without supporting your point. I think you are the idiot. Keep dreaming about something smaller then a gallardo.
Yikes, those are some pretty strong words. Quote from Motortrend: "For the first half of 2008, supercar builder Lamborghini posted revenues of approximately $434.5 million, of which $54.8 million was profits. This represents of 32.6 percent increase over the same time last year, and is just $18.9 million less than the total profits posted by the company for all of 2007. " http://wot.motortrend.com/6268006/auto-news/the-rich-get-richer-lamborghini-reports-record-sales/index.html From the article, Winkelmann has far more sales velocity in Middle East & Asia so clearly he's no dummy - following the money just like most smart business leaders. Remember, Audi sales went down in North America but is expected to double in 2 years in China. What seems like stupid ideas to you are most likely just a refocusing on better markets for their products in places where luxury goods are still taking off. They're not alone, here's the Ferrari sales data from 2007; "The company saw positive signals in all of its markets. Like many carmakers, Ferrari recorded growth in the emerging markets. Sales to the Asia-Pacific region rose by 47,2% on last year's figure while the Middle East was up by 32.3%" http://www.greatcarstv.com/news/ferrari-sets-historic-sales-record-in-2007.html
After seeing the shot of he front tire, I def don't think it's the Murci SV any more My bet is that it's a brand new front engine car (not on Espada but something completely new). As excited as I am about this, I still really want to see the LP640 SV.
I stated why id believe lambo would come out with smaller supercar but apparently you need a pair of glasses. Stupid kids. Sure Lamborghini has made money over the years but they haven't delivered that Supercar that all old School Lamborghini fan's have been waiting for, not to mention all these special and limited edition Gallardos. Its been about making money and only money since he took over not building the baddest car on the road!. Bring back the days when lamborghini had a product that was unmatched like the days of the countach where it was just stunning like nothing else. These days its just alittle "Tame" kind of like Metallica. they where great back in the day but now they aren't as great as they used to be.
This is a business and has never been about what "old school Lamborghini fans" want. They are interested in sales and what it takes to put money in the bank. If they thought they could do that with school busses and garden tractors that's what they'd make. We'll just have to see how this plays out (really just hype so far). They've done well with the Gallardo and Murcielago (although I don't give a damn about either) What the Company makes in the future does not change what came before.
