What a nice facility! I saw this collection a few years ago at the Arlington (WA.) location grouped in three small hangars. Now it is all together in one large hangar at Paine Field adjacent to Boeing.
Bob Parks and I had the pleasure of making the tour with Sparky P-51, his wife and extended family, friend Byron and guest.

With the exception of the V-1's, Me 163 Komet and the Zero under restoration, all of these airplanes are flown regularly. The P-40 and Bf-109 were slated for today but the ceiling was below the 1,000 feet minimum.

    Enjoy.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing, I can't help but think that P-51 has a soul and wants to just open up on that BF-109. :D Was Paul Allen there?

    Wow.

That's alot of boxes of software's profit in those things.

The one with the close up of the machine gun rounds would be enough to sell me if i had the money.

    I didn't see Paul.
It would have been a chance of a lifetime to see the 109 fly. It has it's original engine which is made of magnesium and virtually non-existent elsewhere due to it's material corrosion problems. They literally disappear into thin air.

Tomorrow we do the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field in Seattle.
Sparky has never been and should really get a kick out of the new Fighter Wing.
A truly astounding place, complete with an A12 (SR71 prototype) plus an expanded space history display, with capsules etc.........
I'll start a new thread tomorrow on that adventure.

Too bad it takes so long to resize the pictures............................

Thanks for posting the photos - awesome planes!

As for the resizing - do a search for "Irfanview" - it's a free app that will do batch resizes. I use it all the time. You tell it what size to make photos, point it to a directory, and let it rip.

I do mine individually through MGI Photosuite 4 but haven figured out how to do a "batch" resize. It sure would be a real time saver.

Do I download load this Irfanview and work from there?

When you say point it to a directory do you mean to the actual folder containing the pictures in my computer?

I thought I heard that the site was doing it's own resizing and was using it on the Fchat side a little but it but it took so long time for each picture to process I just kept doing it myself. From (3. megs each)

I'm looking at the Irfaview program and I'm not picking up on the process there either. Lots of flexibility, programs and options but I haven't figured out something simple like a the batch process yet. The sight is jammed with a ton of stuff.
I admit I'm a little retarded in that department.

It would be nice to download my card and resize all 100 shots in one shot.

yes, it autoresizes now, but if you have 3 Mb. files then each of those has to upload to the server before the resize, so that's the delay. I didn't know if you knew that.

I use PIXresizer, can download free from several places. I put all my hi-res from an event in one folder, then I create a subfolder called internet, in PIXresizer you select source, destination, and size (800 pixels). It will resize 100 5 Mb. files in about 2 minutes.

As Gilda Radner would say, " NEVER MIND." I see how it works and I can go back and view the photos after registering.
Sparky and his family are great and we had a great time so tomorrow we slog through the rain again and see the Museum of Flight, another great venue.

Your account is fine, you don't have to subscribe to see photos. You are posting, so that means you are logged in. My top two guesses are you have some firewall or software blocker that keeps the images from displaying or second guess is some Mac users and browsers don't show images in this forum software.
