LOL, I agree....BUT I can understand why the car has been done like this. Most tracks and events will not allow you to participate without a rollbar....this car was just fitted with a removable low quality bar gizmo so that they could atleast get the promoters to allow them some good ole track time. Do whatever is necessary so that your spider can show it's stuff...spiders are just as fast and can be made to handle just as good as ANY of the GTB/GTS's....as a matter of fact the spider I'm building will outrun a 360 CH, not to mention a 355CH

Perhaps you can make one yourself Eitan? :):)

That looks like a "home made jobby" anyways. :):)

That roll bar is not attractive, but anything regarding safety usually isnt. :p:p

As long as it does it job in the event of a rollover, then who cares what it looks like. :D:D

Hey! those are my pics I took at pocono this summer. I think its a custom roll bar built for that car I don't know the owner but I' pretty sure its a custom bar.

Most major cities have a few race shops that can fabricate a roll bar for you. I would recommend maybe looking at a double hoop design (along the lines of a 430 and might look better) and get some type of cross/forward bracing as well. Be sure to have the rear cross brace set up to mount your shoulder belts as well. Then you could have it powder coated to match your car. I think you'll be surprised that it probably isn't all that expensive and will look a whole lot better.

I don't know if I would feel very confident of going upside down with that bar (and I've been upside down twice racing but that's another story). Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Not a bad idea if you're concerned about safety. I'm surprised when I see spiders tracked w/o a roll bar / cage.

I would think interior matching leather padding around the bar would make it look much better.

In the event of a roll over that bar will not do jack. It is not close enough to the sides of the car to have significant strength, a bar of steel folding above your head can be very dangerous. ;)

A good roll over bar needs lateral support, the twin hoop idea is a better option from a strength point of view, and will probably have the bonus of looking better. :)

    THAT made me laugh!

And I wouldn't call it a "show bar" either. Something for show is pleasing to the eye...and that isn't!

I'm not sure if that is sad or scary.

Is his harness connected to this "roll bar"? God I hope not.
