Queen. I'd say that I'm quite educated about rock music of all decades and realize that virtually everyone with a bit of taste loves Queen, but I just can't stand their music.
There are also a lot of bands that I love to hear one of their songs, but can't listen to several in a row. Like AC/DC, Tool, 9 Inch Nails, Alice in Chains.
I can't stand AC/DC, right from the beginning. Ozzie as well. Damn "rock" stations play that same ol' crap over and over and over... Oh, almost forgot Rush and their Tom Sawyer, wtf? A modern-day warrior Mean mean stride, Todays tom sawyer Mean mean pride. Todays tom sawyer, He gets high on you, And the space he invades He gets by on you. Exit the warrior, Todays tom sawyer, He gets high on you, And the energy you trade, He gets right on to the friction of the day.
Im going to stick with the Uber Popular bands and not get into boy bands and current trends. The following bands make my ears bleed. Aerosmith Dave Matthews U2
I don't mind DMB's music but can't stand most of their fans I agree with some others here, there are a lot of bands that I can listen to one of their songs, but that's about it Good bands have a distinctive sound. Great bands don't because they can do everything well.
Bands: Fleetwood Mac. Lightweight *****, and that Nicks woman's voice really grates on my nerves. Solo singers: Joni Mitchell...hippydippy folksinging at its worst. Plenty of others, those popped immediately to mind.
Most bands that get airtime piss me off. The list of bands that I like would be much shorter than the list of bands that I don't. My P.O.S. mp3 player that I take to the gym has about 30 songs on it. Maybe 4 or 5 bands that cover that.
Guns'n'Roses It still amazes me how that big d**chebag Axle Pose didn't get his legs broken from irate fans after his famous "I'm outta here after 20 minutes" performances. And as for Slash? Can you say: "overrated generic guitarist"? The Rolling Stones They should have called it quits after "Tattoo You" Bon Jovi Saw them live (to please the wife) about 10 years back. Got more enjoyment leering at the babes in the audience. I enjoyed their cover-tunes more that their original material. AC-DC Nothing worthwile since Back in Black. Has anyone ever held a mirror to Angus on stage to show him just how "fricken" silly he looks as an old man in a school-boy uniform. More to follow....I must go to my "dark place" to find the rest of the drudge.
While I don't hate the music, I generally don't listen to: Sublime Green Day Red Hot Chili Peppers Dave Matthews Metallica
I think Dylan is the greatest songwriter of his generation but I can't listen to his voice, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
I have heard a lot of people say that they don't like Pink Floyd, but not to like the album Animals, that is really a hard core statement! I think it is one of the best albums ever made! Fearless, that's another classic that you wont hear on any radio, but you will hear the ending of it (You'll Never Walk Alone, not by Floyd though) at just about any English Soccer game that you attend.
AC/DC Aerosmith TOOL Some Led Zepplin Bon Jovi I dont know why, But I dont really like any of them. I really really cant stand TOOL the most out of all of them though.
