I just saw a Spyker c8 Spyder in Malvern, PA today. The car was drop dead gorgeous and so unique. I didn't even know they imported them. Does anyone know the car?

Pictures don't really do it justice. Granted I was flying down the road when I past her, so I didn't get to spend that much time looking at the details. However, it really looked much different in person. However, I can see people absolutely hating it, because there is a whole lot going on visually on the car and it definitely does not have the smooth flowing lines of a Ferrari.

There is a member here with one and I believe a link to the company. They have bee around in the US for several years now, not sure if I have seen one outside of Monterey though. It's a good looking car, the little design details are quite interesting. I'm not sure if I like the aeronautical type theme in a car but other than that I really don't have any problems with it. Wouldn't choose it over a Ferrari or Aston but it does have a sort of almost steampunk appeal.

I love them! Very rare! Ive only seen a few in Scottsdale. They seem so tiny, or is it just me? The styling is extremely unique which I love, especially the interior :)

There is a gray and tan one at Auto Palace in Pittsburgh. Very unique looking. Has a turned metal dash diamond quilting in the seats. The wind shiled is pretty cool has no metal brace on the top edge, just a polished glass edge. Every thing on the car looks to be well machined and exquisitely finished. even the pedals were beautifully made. Car has been there two years, stickers just shy of 300K. The salesman said they are hard to sell. Not a performance car more of a cruiser. The only one they sold was to Big Ben of the Steelers.

    This thread needs some pictures:

There is a small factory sanctioned owners website (SpykerOwner.com) that I started when I got my Spyker. There cars are rare (250 worldwide, 100 in the US) and very special. Totally handcrafted, no electronic nannies but ABS. No power steering, no power brakes, no traction or stability control. A Spyker is 500LB lighter than a 360/430 and has a huge torque. Very different driving, and gets twice the MPG my 430 Spider gets.

Was it Navy colored? I saw a blue C8 on 476 just above Villanova last weekend. I definitely did a double take.

i'm actually in the process of getting them on the admissability list for importation into Canada, I have a client that has a yellow one he's got his eye one and another client who wants one as well, i think the car is so incredibly beautiful especially the interior and the gear shift has got to be one of the most interesting peices on the car!

I changed the car back to the original design propeller steering wheel and added four point seat belts to compensate.

However, the Lotus steering wheel (in the blue/tan car) has no airbag in it either. The new cars have the Gallardo steering wheel and that has an airbag.

I've only seen 2 of them 'in the flesh'...both at zandvoort (holland) at the track. It looks much, much better in real life than on the pictures. Not impressed with the sound though. It needs V12 or maybe V10 goodness;).

Fly off the road you mean. There are no electronic nannies on a Spyker, other than ABS. 400HP is more than enough for a car that weighs 2700LB.

If you would go to 600HP, the current set up will be undrivable. You would need all sorts of electronic aid, and that would take the fun out of the current car.
