DFW Ferrari and Exotic Spotters

Black with black top Bentley GTC (Speed?) at South Side on Lamar around 11:00 Friday morning. wedged into a parking space that I wouldn't even try to get in...

 

I can't even remember the last time I saw one of these "in the flesh." Then again, I've been in Hawaii and Australia the past 10 years, so that might explain things. Anyway, I was heading home late afternoon on Westbound LBJ, just passing Preston, when this very nice red De Tomaso Pantera comes down the ramp. Of course I give him the space to merge in. Very nice view! Beautiful car, even if it looked like it was burning a little oil. It took the Midway exit, so I wasn't behind it for long, but it was a treat while it lasted.

 

Did you have an Espirit a few years back?

 

Just came back from Vegas went to the Wynn and walked around the Ferrari/Maser dealership ok nothing to write home about I did like the window into the Service area they had a very nice F40 stripped down.

 

Around 4:45 this afternoon, red 430 or 360, just a quick glance at it, heading towards SMU on Mockingbird at Matilda. I was coming out of Whole Earth.

 

Yes, I did have an Esprit a few years back. Was my daily driver from 1992ish to 1997ish. PM me.

 

At the Anatole this morning. Brand spankin new Viper SRT-10. Those things have some awesome wheels on them this time. Later in the day, trying to get through downtown on Ross, a silver Bentley CGT and a beautiful new red Maser Coupe back to back around 6:30.

 

I saw one of the new purple Viper SRT-10 coupes last week. That color looks hot as *bleep*!

 

Just saw a rather dirty blue 308GTS leaving as I was stepping out for morning break at work here at Lincoln Center, Tollway and Harvest Hill.

 

Last night, dark silver Diablo VT(?? - had badging) pulling out of a private garage within the residents' garage of an eclectic downtown high rise. First Diablo I've seen outside of a shop, showroom, or show in years. Sounded like rolling sex going down the ramps in front of me, fabulous look from behind.

 

That's a well-known car. I spotted it in Preston center about 3 months ago, posted about it, and got several responses from others who've seen it around.

My spot for today:

Black Maybach sedan parked outside Starbucks at southwest corner of Garland Road and Buckner, around noon. I pulled into the next space to get a better look, very classy-looking fortyish woman at the wheel, rear-door side curtains and rear-window curtain drawn. Mysterious and sexy!

 

Grey 328 in Hebron in Lewisville (Tillman?)

 

Most likely -- although there's a twin of my car down the road in Flower Mound.

 

Did it look like it drove behind a gravel hauler for 20 miles?

 

Wow, a Maybach in Casa Linda??? I'm intigued now, will definately be looking for it...

 

Missing any body parts???

 

Amongst all the red NSX's in Dallas yesterday (generic much? counted 4 in an hour!), there was a red 328 on Dalrock heading towards 30 around 7 last night.

 

As a matter of fact it looked like all or a portion of the front bumper was missing.

 

I know...what the hell is a Maybach doing outside the Casa Linda Starbucks!

Seriously, there is some big $$$ around Whiterock, especially in old Lakewood and the Lawther Drive vicinity.

I've seen only one other Maybach on the road in Dallas, and that was at the corner of Turtle Creek and Fitzhugh, the territory you'd naturally expect to see one in.

I've seen one or two Maybachs in Highland Park Village. Overall, they don't look very nice, unless you WANT them to blend in with Hondas and Toyotas.

 

I was referring to the rear, but this doesn't surprise me either. Poor guy, I wish he would sell it to me.

 

I've seen a few around, mostly up towards the Galleria or at Four Seasons, but Casa Linda? Porsches are norm there. Seriously though, I wonder who she was?

On to other things now, this isn't a Maybach thread. Good spot though...

 

I didn't think it was the rear, but who knows.
Guess the guy's too "poor" to get the ol' prancing horse repaired/restored?
But, at least he can say he drives a Ferrari.
That's more than I am, or probably will be able in the rest of my lifetime, to say, sadly.

Oh, spotted a blue Gallardo coupe heading south on Hillcrest, near Spring Valley, in north Dallas.

 

I know, I'm one of the guys always preaching that this should be a Ferrari-spot-only thread, and usually refrain
from posting about other makes, unless a special classic or very unusual new car.

The Casa Linda Maybach was too good not to post. I'll keep an eye out for it and report further sightings.
