Oh, that's a nice touch. Actually popped back in to add a note - after thus "profiting" [all the while with a straight face for the ATM camera], stuck card back in for another 260... got 260. What coulda been...
Ah, coins. I used to live behind the Ferrari shop in Arlington, VA... about '87/'88, IIRC. There was a fairly old-school and short Coke machine out back, where I discovered if I used nothing but nickels, I'd get a Coke And A Smile, as a lot more nickels overflowed into change compartment, even onto the ground, as the change cup runneth over, even as I was adding nickels to the slot. If I was feelin' feisty, I'd get another Coke and handful after I window-shopped, usually after Midnight, when Ferraris shined brightest for whom the fluorescent light hums. Never shook the machine, though, as that's too white-trashy.
Found $10 while a buddy and I where picking up a pizza. I work in parks repairing the sprinkler systems, and I have never found more then a few dollars. Been doing it for 4 years.
Small world. I think I met the head of the Littleton Parks dept at a tradeshow this summer. I'll have to look when I get to the office tomorrow to remember his name.
Likewise, I used to be a projectionist at a local theater. Found a $20 and a $10 in a cinema once! Very lucky!
I often find money that got left in my pockets, run through the wash, and forgotten about. It's a nice surprise whenever I wear those pants again and reach in my pocket.
I "found" a bank bag with 7k or so in it in my driveway. Not really found but certainly was lost. Friend visited and it dropped out of his truck, didn't realize he lost it. I called him up and asked if he was missing anything important. This doesn't really count as finding money though. He fessed up to losing it before. His wife found the same bank bag full of $$$ sitting in their driveway, but didn't tell him she found it. He drove around like mad all day trying to find it. Another time he left it on top of his truck cab and whistled off down the highway. Realizing what he did, he turned around to go get it. No bag. Cursed himself all the way home and well into the night until his young son popped through the front door and asked him why he left the bank bag in the bed of his pickup.
lol, yeah, cash was fairly common to find when cleaning the theatres, i've found beer bottles, phones, etc., but the worst was a used condom...i definitely passed that one off to the other usher to pick up, lol
I use to find change in vending machines and pay phones (remember those?) all the time. I was expecting you to find some of that used condom on the floor or seat. lol.
Funny thing.... my wife is just as lucky as yours. "Hey honey, look at the 50 bucks I just FOUND in your wallet". Never to be seen again.... J
Yeah find out who it was you met. My head bosses name is Dave if that rings a bell. Was it at the pro green expo? I guess that a more spring then summer.
Once walked up to an ATM where someone had left their card in it and I could have easily taken out the daily max. Instead I took the card out and posted a flyer next to the ATM saying to email me if you lost a card and could prove it was yours. Sure enough 2 weeks later someone emailed me saying they were running late to catch a flight or something and that they had already gotten the card replaced. Luckily the good deed came back to me when I lost my Iphone 2 weeks after getting it. The person who found it drove to my place and dropped it off in person the next day!
So, this thread must be good luck... I found a $20 bill when picking up pizza last night, just laying in an open parking spot right in front of the pizza joint. I just exited the truck, saw it, swooped it up, and viola! No, it wasn't mine to start out with; had no cash on me until then. Thanks, Woohoo found twenty bucks! thread!
I found a casino 100 dollar chip on a black colored part of the carpet in a casino. I looked around before grabbing it, but it was on the floor and nobody was looking.
I once left my wallet in a restaurant, realized it about 5 minutes later went back to get it and they eventually found it in the back. However, when I looked in it $20 bucks was missing, but there was nothing I could do about it, no way to prove that the busboy ripped me off. so yeah... kinda the opposite of this thread
