Great post! I don't think anybody really knows alot about this car other than that it may have been used as a test mule for the MC12 or FXX. I doubt the latter. Are these photos you took your self? Any (about 2) pictures I have seen of this car have been at the Ferrari factory. Is this car now in a private collection? _J
Cool pics, i have only seen a couple of crappy ones of that car before. It might be the MC12 prototype or something along those lines? I think i remember reading it somewhere on this site.
If it's is truelly breaking 1KHP at the wheel's that must mean it is turbocharged which would explain the single/huge diameter exhuast pipe. Anyway the car is awesome !
WAUW.....!!! That's the Secrect One Prototype. On Fifth Gear they said it was for sale but where is that car? Sold? I guess. Got any more pics? Holy nice racer. I love it. thnx for sharing.
Wow, rare photos. Still ugly, but it looks bad ass. I have seen some track shots of the car, but im not sure it was really a turbo. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs
It can be N/A.The F50 GT Chassis 001 makes 1000hp at the wheels out of a 4.7L.Can Only imagine a 6.0.I would beleive the turbo thing cuzz of the little auxiliary "radiator".Probly part of the intercooling.
I saw this at FoH's race shop back in July, it is the MC12 Mule. Looks like it's now being stored at the bodyshop. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138020521&postcount=1028
I still can remember the day I was there...in the race shop, there was an Enzo, the MC12 of Risi Competizione, some F1´s...that day was unbelievable
Well then why everywhere else they are saying all this "1000 at the wheels" stuff.Either way it's sick.I believe the rumoured specs. It looks like a superbeast.
Can you provide some documentation to support your claim? That's over 200hp/liter AT THE WHEELS. A 4.7L engine would have to be spinning near, or possibly beyond F1 engine speeds to put out that kind of hp. I did a quick search and came up with 750hp at the crank for F50GT 001. And that cooler on the rear deck could be for the transaxle.
i think its pretty possible. its an old F1 engine in the back of the F50, enlarged from 3.5 to 4.7 liters, and a bit downtuned offcourse. not sure of the HP of the F1 engines but i believe around 700hp and 13500 rpm. 4.7 liters, +- 10500 rpm could see these figures to i suppose. that enzo is pretty astonoshing, i actually love it!
explained on this vid around 2:30. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4850869510431247349&q=Ferrari
