I have an onboard video from a 275 GTB on a circuit for 3 laps, but that will take too much of my time to upload for the moment. So here's a (short) video I made some months ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAc_Dgbg-p8 Enjoy! -Kevin
It's not my car Jim I do not know which exhaust this 275 GTB exactly has, but the car is changed to competition specs. And very fast. Best regards -Kevin
Then there are 2 pictures from locations on the video Rendezvous. In the first picture the car goes to the right of the building marked Le Consulat. The next one is where the girl walks up the stairs at the end. You would not believe how rough and narrow the streets are towards the end. Hey we haven't had a Rendezvous thread for a while ! This one got snuck in but why not move this up top so everyone can join in
I just received this email: I already have a copy, but thought this may interest some of you. I have no connections with this company other than being a satisfied customer. http://www.spiritlevelfilm.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=16138&cat=248&page=1
Indeed. Popping a mono while being chased by police, or doing 300kmh in/out of traffic? Pure GOLD! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx1CkPcICaY Enjoy! Ciao M
Rendezvoux was filmed using a 246gt. This is a real film and not doctored. The 7 gear changes are when the driver got a wrong gear. The fellow who made the film was later arrested and charged, I think he did a short jail term. It was filmed in the wee hours of the morning, There were no sped up parts, if you are unsure check out the other cars, people, trucks and in particular the pidgeons that scurry out of the way. It is a brilliant film made when film was indeed film and not digital. I used to use it for sales meetings to get everyones attention and blood going. The sound is great.
I've got the DVD and I reckon the film has been doctored - the engine sound doesn't correspond to the road speed and some of the squealing tyres doesn't line up either. I'm having a few of the lads around tonight to celebrate Top Gear Australia, so I'll get other opinions.
Watch the film with the sound off and you'll get a completely different effect - I don't believe any real speed was involved. Watch the woman with the dog in the narrow street - she doesn't even flinch as she moves onto the pavement; not the effect that a speeding Fcar would have on me in an empty street early in the morning.
Now this one is impressively real: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=DGIiarIrUCI And I have to concede, I could never drive like that with a thousand years of practice !!
Yeah, I also read many times on here that it was "sped up" and engine revs dont match scene etc..... Its stills awesome but.
Claude Lelouch was the producer of Rendezvous http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Lelouch and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%27%C3%A9tait_un_rendez-vous Actually, you can't see the car that's being used at all - it's only the sound that's been dubbed. Inspired many other crazies: "Getaway in Stockholm" is pretty good, and was done using a Porsche ( visible in the clip ) But nothing beats Ghostrider - the guy is nuts. M
Sorry Tony but everyone who saw it tonight thought it was dubbed to death. The film is famous for being a fake. The car was being driven at medium speed with the engine revving its head off! The film is an amusing and attractive relic - it is more interesting as a short film about Paris in the morning than as a daring escapade in a "Ferrari".
+1000! How cool would it be to have a split screen 2 camera version of this to be able to match the footwork to the corner? Assuming one's eyes could work that fast!
Yeah ok maybe some of you, hell prolly all of you already know... This is not a Ferrari.... if I am not mistaking it is a MB SLR? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHn5Q15kaIA&NR=1
