I was driving on the 101 yesterday, going about 20mph due to LA traffic, and I looked to the right of me and saw a car on the back of a trailer. It was just sitting on a sidestreet going parallel to the freeway. I immediately exited, and promptly pissed myself when I drove up and saw what appeared to be a 250 GTO sitting on the trailer. Anyone have any information on this???? Is it real? I'm still in shock!

Yes, this is a 2006 Pontiac GTO. LOL...
Do you really think that a $20MM+ car would be trailered on an open bed trailer?

Well, it was behind the Porsche dealership. I asked the people at the dealership if they knew anything about it, and they said that the owner of the dealerships was a big Ferrari collector, and it was most likely his car...

Wow very cool of thats what it is, I have only ever seen one in my life. I went to Seton Hall for undergrad and was in NYC in august of 2001 when I heard it, I knew it was a V12 Ferrari but when I looked I felt week in the knees!

Well, not normally anyway. But, we all know of at least one 250TR that gets trailered around on a trailer very similiar to this one.

I think more importantly, would he leave it sitting out back unprotected and unsupervised? I doubt his insurance co would approve.

Not exactly a 250 Testa Rossa. 625 TRC s/n 0680 MDTR, now with incorrect V-12 250 TR motor. Previously owned by our own Ed Niles. Still in California with Dr. M.C.

OMG can we split hairs, I think the point is made. Pleanty of cars over a million are transported in trailers other than enclosed. When you have that much money sometimes it makes no diffrence. If you have been to the Monterey weekend shows you will see this over and over as hard as it is to believe.

I saw a nice little something here in Santa Barbara a while ago:

It was just parked the Porsche dealership along with a 250 TR, an Alfa Romeo convertible (I suspect around 1935), a Duesenberg J (again I'm guessing) and something I have absolutely no idead of what it is (something from Turin, Italy - it's in the second shot).

I'll post some pics of the 250TR and the Alfa Romeo a little later.

I may be wrong, I hope I am but three years ago I was exiting Concorso Italiano and that car was in an accident right at the entrance /exit to the event. I think the left front side was smashed in.

While a rare site, it is entirely possible. A few years ago I helped the then owner of the Breadvan push it onto an open trailer.

More cars belonging to John Mozart. 250 TR59 chassis# 0770 TR and Alfa 8C 2900B Spyder chassis# 412014 (Superleggera coachwork by Touring).

The "something from Turin, Italy" is his Isotta Fraschini KM4 chassis# 5645 and the Duesenberg J is probably his 1930 J Murphy Speedster.
