Hi there! I'm still kicking the idea around of using the Lancia Thema 8.32 intake on my 328. I don't know how common the parts are for these things, but I'd like to find pricing on the whole thing to the heads: Throttle bodies, plenum, intake runners. Throttle bodies are optional, I could always figure something out for that or use one upstream of the supercharger. I'd need shipping to Texas, USA. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully the price won't be a killer
Lancia Thema 8.32 by Ferrari use Ferrari 308/Mondial QV engine, in Ferrari have 240 cv but in Lancia only 215 (European specifications). i think that is possible to put the engine in 328 but is very difficult in my opinion. regards.
The 8.32 Thema engine is not a mondial or 328 engine. The block is the same but there are fundamental layout differences. What benefit do you think the intake will bring Tillman?
I like the longer intake path, I think it will help the torque down low. I might be wrong, but I want to see it on the dyno. Leads, anyone? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ever i think that is the same motor of mondial but with different specifications of admision etc... maybe is Dino gt4 engine? regards.
Hi gang, It's a modified 3.0L QV engine,as in the Mondial QV or the 308 qv's....with plenty, plenty of mod's on it... IMO the camshaft set up in a 308 or 328 would not stick with the inlet manifolds of the torquy Thema 8.32 unit.... Here are some pic's of my 8.32 Other pic's are from a Mondial 8 I worked on.... IMO the inlet manifold are long enough.... Speedman. In the first ninetees in Spain The Lancia Thema 8.32 was the most wish car, rich constructors and sport stars drive their 8.32 in these years, i remember the Real Madrid basketball legend Fernando Martin driving fast a dark blue unit second series. regards.
Hi Tillman Have you found a manifold ? I may be able to help you. Does any body know if the crank is the same as the ferrari item (clutch end ?)
I doubt it. The Lancia crank was a cruciform, the ferrari crank is flat. There is actually very little interchangeable on the 8.32 and the 328 engines.
Thanks Simon Im looking for a crank and Know the where abouts of a complete motor . Though I could steel the crank and help out with some other bits .
As has been noted here before, these engines were actually constructed in the Ducati works using Ferrari castings. It was fundamentally a 3.0 motor without the flatplane crank, different cam timing and of course intake / injection. In the late 80's (1988?) I did a factory tour of Maranello and saw 3.2 engine components being crated for shipment to Ducati in Bologna. The next day I was at Ducati and our guide proudly showed us the "Lancia / Ferrari" assembly line. The castings were surprisingly "rough". Needless to Ducati was a dump in those days, a far cry from the well-lite assembly lines in Maranello. Ducati was very dark inside, the roof leaked (sounds like a Ferrari dealership I used to know) and was quite dirty.
I would be careful about suggesting that, if its not on the import list and the person driving it does not have a canada pasport you will get turned around.

Yes, and thanks to Simon for the tip! See http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214694 for what I'm contemplating
