Hey Jim, You got spotted! http://exoticspotter.com/list.php?page=1&batch=bt000181/bt000181_712550.JPG&model=all&make=all&location=all (the website has no relationship to me, I just frequent there and thought it privy as a screen name for a man with a hobby)
I just finished reading this entire thread for what's probably the third time now in two years (yeah - I need a hobby). For those of you that have just jumped in and caught it from the unveiling on, do yourselves a favor and go back to the beginning and read it through. It's like reading a mystery novel and is well worth the time. Then do yourselves a favor and check out the Van den Brink threads that split off of this through MVdB's attempts at guessing potential P4/5 designs before the unveiling, which are potential epics in their own right. Don't know where else you can get this kind of entertainment for free - take advantage!!
We could not resist including the P4/5! @ 1:50 mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOfM7TyzkW8 ELIM speedandmotion.com
interesting intellectual property point? smack me if this has already been discussed, but who owns the P4/5 "design"? I would think Pininfarina, no? Did Ferrari SpA's blessing the alteration to the Enzo and the subsequent application of the Ferrari logo transfer the IP rights to them? or is it a "work for hire" that you own? We might have to ask Dr. Hart .. .
I own the IP to P 4/5. I have the right in perpetuity to use Ferrari Badging on P 4/5. I also have the right in Perpetuity to use Pininfarina badges on P 4/5. P 4/5 is an official Ferrari and it's name as agreed to by Luca, Andrea, and me is Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina. Ferrari of course owns the right to it's badging, etc. and the IP of the Enzo components used in P 4/5 and I of course do not have the right to licence any of Ferrari's badges, etc.or IP. Pininfarina of course owns the rights to their badging and they have given permission to me to use their badges on P 4/5 models for example.
So basically the only hold up on the model is Ferrari allowing their logo to be used on the P4/5 model?
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind. Either it will happen or it won't. I'm done talking about the model until it does or doesn't happen. If you want drop them a note.
Jim, Will the real thing be anywhere in this corner of the country soon? I haven't had the pleasure yet. David
6K very hard miles, a lot of track miles, so far one set of tires, brake pads, brake fluid, and clutch.
Probably not but we won't know until we get her apart. Likely have to make a slight cut/pass on fly wheel. Rev limiter caught engine and I realized it was gone and pulled over without incident. Lifted nose, screwed in tow hooks, called flatbed and had her back in the shop in no time. I'm sure she'll be up and about soon. Stock Enzo Clutch.
