Well, I think I am going to go with the Fabspeeds. Is anyone coating these or wrapping them for heat control or is it better to just shield your alternator? Is there anything else that needs shielding?

Are they ready to bolt on out of the box with OEM gaskets?

Just shield the alternator...Installed these in my buddies 355 with a modded engine. He drove all summer no issues at all...

I had shields made for the componenets as well as having the headers ceramic coated..

Lots of info in the original thread on the Fabspeed group buy...

I went with ceramic coating, and would do new gaskets as well. It's worth the small $ to reduce the chance of a leak later.

I will check out that thread. I already plan on new exhaust gaskets so not a problem.

I bought Fabspeed exhaust for my Porsche about 2 months ago. It sucks! The build qaulity was horrible .The flanges were not straight, flat so the gaskets leaked. the tips look like crap. I am not at all happy with it!
I hope you have better luck

Sorry to hear; we've had a bunch of guys who installed Fabspeed headers on 355's and fit and finish was perfect. I've got thousands of leak free miles this summer and with coating they still look fantastic. I would still recommend them for 355's - with appropriate heat shielding.

I'm real happy with mine. No issues so far in 5 months of driving in really hot Arizona weather. Just shielded the alternator and a few plastic pieces.

I went with wrap and alt. shield, as well as motor mount shield, with 1,000 miles of spirited driving it seems to be fine. GL
