Questions on new Firefox.

    ok guys, i'm using and iMac, and a few weeks ago, i 'accidentally' downloaded the latest version of Firefox. before this, i was using the older version which i downloaded back in March when i bought the iMac. then the updates started comin, and i clicked 'remind me later' a few times.

    now, few weeks ago, i accidentally clicked update, and the new one was installed. now, the whole thing is slower, and i can't seem to view any images under Yahoo, when i click on Yahoo images. this whole thing started when i downloaded the latest version of Firefox.

    now, my question is, is there a way i can delete and re install the older firefox? i have no idea what model it is tho.

    On a Mac, just browse to Applications and find firefox. Click on firefox and drag it to the trash. That's all you need to do to remove it.

    To install 2.x, you can download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

    However, I'd recommend you keep the current version and at least clearing the cache/cookies or remove and reinstall the current version. There could be some issue with the cache or cookies, which is preventing you from viewing images on certain sites.

    Thanks Randy. i'll clear the cookies and stuff now.

    anyways, whats actually the advantage of the current Firefox? i really feel my Mac has slowed down since i got it installed.

    It's been a while since I've played with 2.x. I cannot recall if there were tab browsing in that version. (?)

    If your mac is running slower, one thing to check - is your desktop filled with icons, images, or anything other than the 2 or 3 items for harddrive/cd ? Not talking about the application bar at the bottom, just the desktop. Each desktop icon is taking up a bit of resources. Clear those out, move them over to your documents. Check for available space. All the usual stuff. You can also run the disk checker to verify and repair permissions. It is the disk utility.

    Also, get quicksilver and use that for easy application launch. =)

    Randy, thanks a bunch man. i actually have tonnes of F1 wallpapers in folders on the desktop, and 2 movies on it. maybe, thats why.

    regarding Firefox, i just deleted, and re-installed the current one. but still, i can't see, to view anything on yahoo images. just google works for me. maybe, its the connection? or server?

    I downgraded a week or so after getting the newest one. If I has 3 or more tabs opened it would crash , and mine was also very slow.

    normally, u can view the small cap of the video ur about to click. but now, when i type any videos on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=michael+jackson&search_type=

    there's no video cap at the left side of the title of the video i wanna watch.

    Go to Tools - AddOns and disable each one of the addons, if there are any.

    i just downloaded back the older Firefox...and everything works!
