    Hi Brothers,

I have a new problem with my 1997 F355 Spider. I got in my car, pushed the button, heard the two beeps, started the car, and went to the bank. When I arrived at the bank, I stepped out of the car, closed the door, and pushed the button on the FOB to lock the door. Nothing happened. Knowing that I couldn't start the car after a couple minutes if the key FOB wasn't working, I climbed back in the car and drive home. Now I have tried both key FOBs that I have and neither one will operate the alarm/locks. The light on the dash is still blinking and when I pull the key out of the ignition, I get 5 short beeps. I think the blinking light indicates that the Alarm backup battery is fine. Also, the door locks work with the switches on the tunnel, so they are fine. Any ideas?

A little history...I noticed some dimming in my dash lights prior to starting the car, so I pulled the battery and had it tested yesterday. It checked out fine except it was low. I just rebuilt the alternator about a month ago with a new diode bridge and voltage regulator. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=209625 The dash lights were getting bright after the car started, so I think the alternator is fine.

I also still have my MAF low voltage issue. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=210230

Tom - Have you tried swapping out the fob's battery for a fresh one?

LOL! Yep, it's the battery. I thought by trying the red FOB which I never use, that would eliminate the battery in the FOB as being the issue. WRONG. Both batteries are low. The light on both FOBs still light up, but the batteries are not strong enough.

    Thanks, Tom

Straight forward replacement. No re-programming or re-learning of code by the alarm ECU is required.
