    <major bragging mode on>
    Finally I received the visor back, which has travelled with the team to the Hungarian GP where Kimi signed it. Now it is back with its helmet.

    Coincidentally this is very similar to how I got my Schumacher helmet signed as well.

    Well I sent it to a friend who went to Goodwood with it, where he handed it to a team member. That was at the beginning of July. Then it travelled to Maranello and eventually to the Hungaroring. Thereafter back to Maranello and then on to Goodwood for the revival in September. From there back to the States, where I got it yesterday. So just a bit more than 3 months. :)

    I have some email trail about all this, but I can't post that for obvious reasons. Suffice to say, I have the provenance to proove it, but I have no intention in selling.

    Wow, quite a process. Does that guy do any custom paint schemes you want?

    You mean Mike Charness (a mod on here)? He does and he is darn good at it. It was VERY important for me to get the Marlboro logos (also on my Irvine and Schumacher helmets) and he did them for me.

    Muchas gracias!

    Guess it's gonna be hard to see the cars in front of you with all that writing right in the middle of the visor? :)

    Very cool story how it exchanged hands and traveled with the team a bit, i'm jealous!!

    Jeez if that isn't the easiest signature in the world to forge! I wonder how many of those Kimi signed stuff you see on ebay and elsewhere are fakes. :rolleyes:

    Which is precisely why I stopped buying any of that stuff. Only if there is legitimate proof of the provenance (ideally a picture of the driver signing the piece) would I buy something like that.

    As I said, in this case I have emails from the team stating it is authentic. Short of meeting Kimi personally, that'll have to do for me.
