I have the original Miura owners manual for #74 Miura 3150. It contains the hand written notes of the original owner on several pages. It is the early, tan, heavy texture cover manual cover, A4 size i believe, two folding brads, excellent condition.
If the current owner or another would like this original manual, please PM or email me.

Joe, Do you have any pictures or engineering details on these SV fuel return lines? The tap in points at the rear and at the gastank? I do know there is Savara fuel vapor canister that is also installed on these models as well and is often removed. thanks

Your SV has to be the most valuable SV extant.

    Thanks for sharing these...

Yes, very nice subtitle. If we must believe the story of how Wallace parked the first Miura at the Casino in Monte Carlo:
Good old Enzo nearly fainted...the sweet revenche of a tractor driver...

Here's a page you must like, from april 1968......

    Ciao!

PS: I see you sold your magazine trough ebay Joe? ;-)

It’s past midnight and I suppose that I should be in bed dreaming of the day’s events – especially as I was up before the dawn.

Because today was frankly just a little bit special.

You see today - my 16,014th on this earth I experienced a bit of a red letter day for these parts and I wanted to share something of it with the group and with anyone wanderin’ round the better ends of the internet – where the nice people hang out.

Those nice people who share willingly their technical advice and their shared enthusiasm of things Lamborghini – both here, the VLG and through the many enthusiast websites that go toward making owning a one of these exclusive beasts a whole lot easier and much more fun.

If you come across these comments as you seek to try and understand why these cars are just so special I hope they will serve to answer in part at least just why these cars are just so unlike ANY other.

Up before the larks & to the early morning milk train – a day of total uninterrupted sunshine with not a cloud in sight in the midst of a week of soul sapping rain

Four changes of transport and half a day later saw me gazing down upon a very miura shaped lump underneath a car blanket.

My long suffering mechanic who has pushed my tin into the corner so many times when my credit was crunchin’ and pushed it back out again and worked on it with good grace when it wasn’t just couldn’t resist the final and fitting theatrical flourish.

Who could blame him, as it was almost 4 years to the day he took it under his expert mechanical wing and 41 years to the week since it first rolled across the Sant’Agata production line.

The curtain was drawn back and the audience of 5 – including the neighbours dog - were rendered gob struck – except the dog – it barked from the moment the cover was drawn back and didn’t let up once until the big orange dragon flew out of the mechanics yard for good an hour or so later.

Colin Clarke and mechanic Tom had through their superb workmanship delivered perfection – or as near as I think its possible to get without going insane and checking back into obsessive compulsives anonymous.

Having never before driven a miura – or any V12 for that matter – a short trip up the country lane as passenger and back again as driver was order of the day – previous convictions including various acts with an Urraco and a Mangusta should have prepared me but frankly didn’t – a previous stint with a narboo starfighter might have been a better apprenticeship.

Today’s next task was to navigate this amazing vehicle the 250 or so miles back home.

Not wanting to experience this adventure alone I had invited my pal of many years and who just seemed most deserved and best qualified to ride shotgun - it took 10 years of marriage for his wife to finally remove the Countach poster from their (his?) bedroom wall – and he did at least offer to wear lipstick and a blonde wig - I declined his offer.

Together we set off and headed north – sat nav failed at the first hurdle and was tossed with distain – today apparently wasn’t going to be about new technology – but here the technology of our past was more than able to show how it could still cut the mustard.

And 4 hours later here I sit – a beam as wide as my fat face will allow and trail of cut mustard spread large across much of the English countryside.

The trip home was simply breathtaking – he car delivered sensational speed and amazing poise without ever even trying – barely 2,500revs most of the time but occasionally perhaps a little more – just a little – I kept to a genuine legal maximum speed (honestly constable) and was never going to break the land speed record or even attempt such folly - today was about learning important lessons about this cars abilities and characteristics – and to enjoy the lesson.

I haven't ever had this much fun with my trousers on!!

As Mike said “do that thing again with your right foot” for about the 400th time we were home – it felt like 20 minutes; It was 3 hours something but it all happened in a vacuum – maybe it didn’t happen at all and it isn’t in the garage now.

I’ll go and check in a minute.

The car delivered perfectly - not an anxious moment – and a chance to let perhaps thousands of people see this icon in the flesh – doing what it was built to do and doing it so well – only 41 years after it’s birth.

Save for the almost appropriate 60’s disco strobe light effect from the engine compartment lights for the last 15 miles and a single headlight refusing retract at journeys end the day passed without any trauma – I think the old girl is allowed to show some temperament – like a true thoroughbred.

Thanks Ferruccio – your boys sure built a wild thing – and I think I love her - it just took me 16,014 days to know for sure.

If you want me I’ll be in the garage.

    Bax

    Miura #3171.

Nice story, congratulations. It is hard to describe the first time in one of these cars, but your description is very fitting. Not a day anyone who has had the great fortune to experience will every forget. Please do us all a favor and post plenty of pictures for all of us to see (you did take pictures, didn't you??)

Enjoy 3171 in good health and godspeed.

Quite a testament to Miura's allure. I've been smitten by them since the first magazine cover back in high school. I wondered at the time if I'd ever see one, over the years several have found their way here for repair or restoration.

I still recall my first drive in the angry beast like it was yesterday.
