my 2000 360f1 coupe died while doing a short cruise. The engine was idling low then started making an 'air jet' type of sound over 3k RPM. I then started losing power and the gas pedal wouldnt rev the engine and the engine stalled. I tried restarting it turned over then dided then wouldnt restart. Im feelin a little worried. ANY clues and also tips for a good indy ferrari shop in the ft lauderdale area??? Maybe the fuel pump???

For a late model Ferrari as you have, I would stick with the dealership, Ferrari of Ft Lauderdale, former Shelton Ferrari.

Reset the ECU by turning off the battery switch inside the trunk. Go have a cold one, connect it again and give it a shot.
Most of the time works. Good luck.

Should be in the front trunk compartment but honestly on the street car I cannot tell you for sure.
The other thing you can do is reset the computer by pressing the button on the drivers footwell lft side. Has a black rubber on top. Press that donw for a few seconds. Should reset the computer. Your problem sounds more like something more serious though.
Was the check engine or slow down light on?

On the F1 check if the rear brake light work properly. If one is out that will make the computer cut the ignition.

check your air intake if it has something in it. A plastic bag or something that is restricting air.
Check also the air box. Open them and see if they are unrestricted. Check if the airbox is properly attached to the air intake hose from the side of the car. If that comes lose the sucktion will actually suck in the airbox and dent it inwards.

Try what Martin suggested. Press the black button and hold it. If not, open the trunk. Looking at the car from the front, on the upper left corner close to the CD Box is a round black knob with an arrow. ON And OFF.

it turns over but wont start. It was idling low espescially when it was downshifting at lights then climbing back to 1k. Then it was making a bad wooshing/shhhhh sound over 3k that i didnt hear before. Then the pedal did nothing and it died. I went back and it turned over but didnt start. guess it getting towed down the street to the new foftl

Ok i did what you said with the switch and the rubber button. It restarted and the pedal worked. But it was making a clacking sound so I shut it down. Then It wouldnt restart even when did the cycle again. How do I check the airbox?

Don't attempt anything more. It sounds like you have a bigger problem. Flat bed to the service shop of your choice.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah...I would say Trippe A and have it sent to a shop that can hook up the SD2.
If you want a recommendation outside of the FNA network email me. Otherwise I suggest you bring it to FoFtL.
You can visually check the air boxes. Look for the air intake hose if that is properly installed. If that came lose you have a air sucktion problem. Should only be dominant when the car is running at higher RPM (like 3000+). Should not be a problem at idle. At least it should not die.
If your O2s are bad maybe the cable is broken or not properly attached. Once that comes off your O2 can throw off the computer completely. Yo would not have a problem with noises though. Maybe you have two problems at the same time there. Give it to a pro and let them look at it.

Email me for a recommendation on a shop in Miami.

Although probably unrelated to your situation, a buddy of mine's '99 360 died on him -- twice -- both of which required a flat-bed to the dealership. After two trips, they finally discovered the culprit -- a loose battery cable.

I think I saw your car being unloaded at FoFL around 7:45. The flat bed driver was being very careful FWIW. Good luck.

fabio from the shelton days is still at foftl. Its there behind a few other cars waiting. At least it starts. Im telling him to charge the battery and put oil in it and see if shes all better. It drove at the shop to pull in to the garage so maybe all is not toast. I love cars but if my seadoos can run in the ocean and take that abuse, a ferrari should run on the street no problem??

Its the best driving car I ever owned but i want it to be tough too. Anyhow now my main road jet is down my luxury car feels like slop and i want my baby back. Not sure what to get next if shes cooked
