Is 6k in the range of useful life for an Enzo clutch?

Jim, I have noticed that it appears that you are driving P 4/5 more and more. The new cars are seductive, aren't they? No doubt, vintage cars are cool. But, there have been a lot of improvements over the last 40 years or so, no? I have to imagine that your car is an absolute hoot to drive. For me, as a driver instead of a lover, that is all that counts.

If driven hard yes. If babied probably longer. Keep in mind P 4/5 has more tire so the forces are higher as the tires stay hooked up more especially in race mode which I always drive in. I think the track miles got her especially Bahrain where it was cooking hot.

No question newer cars are easier and much more confortable to drive. They don't overheat and it's funny how more relaxing it is not having to keep one eye on the temp gauge and the other on the oil PSI.

Tomorrow I'm taking out the Lola. Have to remember to use that third foot pedal.

Tru dat. My one problem with the GTC, not that it compares to your cars, was this little paranoid voice in my head that always kept asking: what was that? Granted, it was a fun car to drive. Diamonds and rust and all that. However, my best drive to date was a F430 on the track at Mt. Tremblant. There ain't nuthin like the real (new) thang, baby.

Most of these pedalcars are maybe by an Italian company called ToysToys (http://www.toystoys.it/) and they are also available as electric 6V car.

And they already have the 430 Scuderia Spider in their catalogue :D

I just changed the clutch on the 'Stang. 120k miles on it. Maybe it's because of those cheap imported Italian parts they put in those Ferraris. :p

Just remember not to discard clutch plates!!!
In these modern art times you have an item that is as unique as it gets-- and has a back story that is completely mythical in terms of of passion, power, beauty, love and heartbreak.

haha... definately can give hirst a run for his money... maybe you should have the plates plated... in diamonds. ;)

Hope she's up and running soon!
599 had an epic clutch fail two weeks ago and we're still waiting for a new one... 22k miles in under a year... good times...

    Cheers,
    Max

    Hey

Some day I plan to drive her on the Historic Targa but that's a bit of a trek for a "symbolic parade through the streets of Cambridgeshire" as opposed to an 800 mile drive through Sicily.

and I have to say that I was very impressed. I met other owners of the cars displayed and while most were very nice too, a number were quite full of themselves. On the other hand, Jim (who is a legend among Ferrari and car enthusiasts in general) was down-to-earth, approachable, very pleasant to talk to, and a genuinely nice guy.

It was a pleasure meeting you Jim.

    Best regards,
    Andy Santos

PS. Too bad I still was not able to see your P4/5 in person, but your Lola was awesome.

Not sure if it's been asked, but has anyone contacted you in regards to producing a scale model?

^ I'm proud (and I know Paul Hill is too!) to say that P4/5 will be running a Hill Engineering clutch release bearing. :)

    Jim,

The two white exhaust pipes, look like two "King Cobras," standing guard over the transaxle of P 4/5!

A very aggressive and daunting posture!
