Oh good! I'll take the Porker. Maybe I should put my old plate back on it? Would that help with the splash? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just Spoke with Ed....He's looking for a head count to ensure he has enough food. (I counted my fat arse as 2). Who else is planning on attending? It should be an incredible time. Lets get some excitement generated. This will be close to if not the last 2008 event. Straight from Mr. Ed's mouth...Bikes are welcome as well although forcast calls for 58º (Brrrrr) so far I know Lane (Ethan...You want to ride with me? I have to be back by 5:00 for a thing) Peter Craig How about the rest of us. Matt, this is pretty close to you I think. And we haven't seen ya for a while. BajaPat...if'n you bring that wonderful camera...your welcome as well. (even if you don't bring it, but please do)
I am a 2 , bringing my beautiful co-pilot, I have another couple that are on the fence with a old alfa gtv, hope to convince them .
Lane I didn't realize this wasn't just one of your weekly meetups at starbucks. was this the weekend you were planning on taking a long cruise into mass?
Well if you are planning a long cruise to Mass, better head to the North Beverly Starbucks! And give us a little bit of a heads up so we can match you Ferrari for Ferrari. Seriously, is that a possibility? It is a long cruise for you CT guys.
I'm in, barring "responsibilities" sneaking up on me on Sunday. Possibly +1 (hey, you never know, I might be able to trick someone into joining me! )
Hi All, Everyone posted above is added to the "shall attend" list Please find following an update for the Gathering at Autumn View Farm. When - Sunday, October 19th Time - 11 am to late afternoon Where - Autumn View Farm Warren, MA 01083 Forecast - Current forecast for Sunday is 58 degrees, mostly sunny, 20% chance of precipitation. Generally breezy as our farm is situated atop an open knoll. Parking - We'll be parking cars (bikes) on the lawn behind the house. Note that the driveway is gravel and all are welcome, encouraged actually, to drive on the lawn to prevent stone chips on wonderful paint jobs. Please feel free to pull onto the lawn at the right hand side of the gravel drive and proceeed to the back of the house. Really, it's ok. I got special approval from my wife. We're expecting about 5 local Ferraris to show (we shall see). Estimating 10 cars (and maybe some bikes) from the CT group arriving approximately 11:30 am. Expecting 10 or more cars from the Porsche drive group. They'll be doing a Quabbin Reservoir drive which will end at the farm around 12:00 noon. Even a pair of cars coming all the way from Maine. Now that's enthusiasm!! We'll have the food ready for your arrival. No need to hurry - enjoy the foliage. Street Address or additional information contact [email protected] Looking forward to seeing everyone, Ed and Sandy Smith
Hi RMDC, Autumn View Farm in Warren, MA is coincidentally located equidistant from the North Beverly MA Starbucks and the Rocky Hill CT Starbucks. We're 30-40 minutes southwest of Worcester. (OK less than 30 minutes with the Fcar) You're invited to gather up some Fcars and come on down to meet the cousins from CT. That's what this event is all about. Regards, Ed
Ethan...We are meeting at SBucks at 8 and heading out from there around 10. Your welcome to come by with any or all your friends. We all really hate when people look at our cars...NOT. Patrick...you gonna bring the Countach? Mike...Since your around the corner, I'll assume you'll be there. Joe...Any word from the Boss yet? Ed - Thanks for hosting this shindig...What can we bring to lighten your load? I've got a bottle of homemade zinfandel with your name on it already loaded in the car. If its bad, my father-in-law made it, if its good, I did.
Hi Lane. Unlikely. I got some priority issues to attend to and lots of housework to do before the cold sets in. We still have a few weeks ends to December so I am still hopeful.
Hi Lane, My wonderful wife is taking care of the refreshments and she's been carrying me for over 20 years now so she's become used to the heavy load. She advises that if folks insist upon bringing something then perhaps just bring chips, nuts, etc. She's planning lasagna, assorted finger sandwiches and breads, fresh veggies with dip, cheese and crackers, cookies, brownies, coffee, soft drinks and water, etc. She is my heroine !!! - Ed - PS In regard to gifting wine, a long time hot air balloon enthuisiast told me that the wine they traditionally give to land owners has to be "just about right". His theory is: If the wine was great you'd have kept it for yourself. If it was really bad it would kill me. So the bottle has to be "just about right".
It was great to see all the cars today guys. Thanks for letting my friend and I gawk. I wish I had a chance to talk to more of you but my friend who hasn't seen too many ferrari's was really determined to walk around and look at all of them. Not that I minded.
Great showing again today, if not a bit chilly in the morn. First a few pics from the usual Sunday meet...this time we were fortunate enough to be joined by the 430 Scuderia! The drive was great, must have had 15+ cars? Here's two pics, the view behind and the view ahead. Great route choice Dipstick, roads were quintessential New England - twisty, smooth, great foliage, and lots of dry leaves flying around. And of course a huge thanks to AVFPolo for hosting a real first class reception for 40+ car nuts. You do realize this must be an annual event now, right? Definitely a great day today. Stanley's Scuderia was amazing. Ed / Sandy, thanks so much for opening your estate up to us. It was great to meet you both as well as some new faces from the Porsche club.
I can't say enough about the quality of people It's been my pleasure to associate with. Yet another spectacular day. I missed the bikes but truely understand...It was way to cold... Is it time to start considering the approach we intend for the "Off Season". I'm sure we will squeeze a few more in but I'd hate to think its over until spring. Perhaps we could get together at an indoor venue like say, a go-kart track in Wallingford.
Lane, you read my mind. Jay and I were talking about carting the other day. I am certainly open to that idea.
For sure we'll do some Karting. He doesn't know about this plan yet, but I suggest we crash Traimpz348's garage in the off season to install some new cats. You bring the parts, I'll bring the wrenches, Lane can bring the beer A few pics from the AVFPolo gathering...my lens just doesn't do justice to this many cars, maybe someone else out there took some nice group shots.
