I came across these articles in an older issue of FORZA (No. 30, June 2001) so I had my Admin. Assistant photocopy and scan them in .pdf format. They consist of a great 348 Buyer's Guide (the best I've ever seen in FORZA for any model) and a 348 PPI that could certainly be applicable to any Ferrari model. Unfortunately, due to its large size (> 1M), I was not able to upload the 348 Buyer's Guide. I'm sorry about that! If it can be attached to a PM, someone please let me know. If not, anyone who would like a copy of the .pdf can send me a PM with their e-mail address and I'll send it to you as an attachment.

I hope this is somewhat helpful to the 348 Brotherhood.

BTW, if I remember correctly, Eitan started a Thread a while ago about roll bars for Spiders. On the last page of the 348 PPI.pdf there is an ad for a company called Ultrasmith Systems, Inc. (www.ultrasmith.com) that looks to be the manufacturer of this type of roll bar.

The PPI is just O.K. But, the 348 Buyer's Guide really was a FORZA masterpiece. I have never seen such a highly detailed, complete buyer's guide in any magazine or for any car. It's 7 full pages long! Please PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send both articles as .pdf attachments. I've already sent-out 10 so far.

    Best,

    Scott

Personally, I would not exclude regularly checking in here with us "experts" in 348 ownership. ;)

Seriously (and I thought it was clear from my post about the 348 Brotherhood), I was just trying to augment all the incredible information that you guys have on FChat. NO WAY was I implying that these should be substitutes - just a little more information. Plus the PPI was a nice handy "check-list" that you could take with you if you were buying a car. Geez, all I was just trying to help out potential 348 buyers, not insult the 348 Brotherhood. Plus the more people that know about the 348 the more will buy one. Sometimes it's also nice to have SOME fairly good information in one neat concise package, rather than having to do a search.

You really need to get off that Egyptian river...

It's all good, just make sure that the info is accurate and not based on historical biases and heresay. We owners have a far more accurate reality.

While I am not a 348 owner, I have learned quite a bit about the model from FChat. I found the FORZA Buyer's Guide to be very well done, accurate and quite complementary to the model ("...it may be hard to decide between a 348 and the Testarossa or 512BB"). I think that quote puts the 348 in some pretty good Ferrari company. The best way for you to be at ease is to shoot me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you an attached copy. That way you can see if I have been "True" to the 348 Brotherhood.

    Best,

    Scott

LOL, that is a funny quote to a hardened 348 owner. A TR?! Heh heh, not a chance, no comparison. The 512 Boxer? Man that is a horse of a totally different color. If I had one, I would have sold it for the profit I would have made. To each his own. I don't dispute these articles, however, I still maintain that the best recommendations are from the owners here. However, more information is always better than less.

Click on Scott's Avatar (scroll your mouse over the picture that is next to his screen name) and it will take you to the screen here. Near the bottom you will see those four tabs, click on "Contact Info" and then you have to option to click on "Send a private message to saw1998" or "Send a message via email to saw1998"

Any way to get a copy of the 348 buyer's checklist? The original poster's contact information is no longer available.

    Thanks!

Click on the link in the OP and thar she blows. Just four pages, good stuff.

There's a huge long 348 buyers guide/unofficial maintenance manual floating around somewhere, maybe in one of the stickies. Not a substitute for a real PPI or real MM but great to read, with lots of photos and user suggestions and tips.

Thanks so much for posting this! Even though it comes too late to be of much assistance for me, I have still wanted to read it for some time now just to see what they say...and not have to pay the $23 or whatever those ebay nut jobs are asking for Forza back issues!
