Trying to help a busy friend with his Mondial. when the top is up, and both windows are up , and you look at the side windows, this part is a black 12"X1" rubber seal strip that goes between the front and rear side window, in this case, the driver side seal is broken. The rubbery seal is attached to and part of the metal convertible top frame system. It's not the canvas, or any of the metal of the roof frame. It is attached/part of the roof frame metal piece that's supposed to create a fill-in seal between the front and back window, installed vertically....it goes from where the passenger window starts up to the canvas top. Most people with Mondial convertibles have problems with this part. Though the description may sound unclear, people with this car know immediately which part I'm trying to describe. I hope someone has a source. Any help/advise on a new part or experience fixing?
If you find one let me know, I need one too. FWIW, I have been told by others that it is a pretty difficult piece to find, but have not tried myself.
I have them, despite what our website says. They are very expensive. Yes, the word "Mondial" is molded into the rubber. http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=229323 http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=229324
Can you post a photo? My t Cab has one with a small crack in it....its the hard rubber vertical plastic piece? Correct?
See below. It is a hard (steel?) piece with the rubber fitted onto it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good to hear Ricambi has them. T Rutlands has them too. One of mine was cracked and about 2" of the rubber came loose. I glued it back on with some strong rubber cement and clamps, and it is barely noticeable now. From the looks of it, I better start saving up if I want to replace it in the future though.
