Here's my video from our drive up to Rodney's house a couple weeks ago. http://vimeo.com/1867211 Enjoy! Jeremy
You kept the camera really still for hanging out the window at over 100+ mph!!!! I can't wait to see the video from last Sunday's drive now....
Jeremy, I love the videos, but... maybe I'm just tired, but it seems like in the Rockford one everything is squished.. like the cars seem like replicas on too short of wheelbase.. an all the people look tall and skinny.. course now I wish I was on that drive... I wouldn't object to being made to look tall and skinny.. lol I tried it both full screen and the embed size.. do I need to get my eyes checked? The other video I don't think looks like that..
hmm.. Your not the first person to say that. I'll try and go through and re export it and see what happens. I haven't noticed but its probably because I stared at the video for 10 hours straight yesterday trying to edit it!
I do that on the car... spend an entire weekend working on something, then can't figure out why it won't start.. someone walks up with new eyes and asks why I did't put the battery back in.. lol
HAHA. Yea thats how it gets with these videos. I over look the smallest things. I'm re exporting it now to see if it will fix. Some times technology really doesn't like to cooperate with me....
Chelle, you already are tall & skinny, at least in my eyes. You're right though, looks like the first few frames were bracketed and then the format changed. Still good videography though!
does that SRT/10 have stock exhaust? Sounds great! I already knew Gallardos sound amazing but the Viper was just as good
You guys were right. I exported it wrong. Thats what working til 330 in the AM will do to you... BUT. the first frames are different then the rest. Its a different size video that I had to make and then put it in this video. Everything else is how it should be though. Hope you guys like them!
The aspect ratio is wrong on the "Cruise to Rockford" video as well. Not by as much, but just visible enough. I do like your editing and soundtrack. The disco version of the Bond theme is great.
That would be my choosing.....I listened to over 30 versions of that song to find just the right one! Glad you liked it. Jeremy's talent is amazing to make those photos match to the beat so perfectly! I know Jeremy had only 1 day to do the edit for the Rockford drive. He was up till 3:30 in the morning finishing it so it would be ready to run at the Lambo Chicago party later that day. The HD version that he put on the DVD is perfect. I guess posting on the internet is a different story.
Getting aspect ratios right when transferring to another media can be tricky. Been there, felt the pain. Yes, matching the beat so perfectly is absolutely amazing and a sign of a lot of hard work at the editing screen. You have over 30 versions of the Bond theme? I need to borrow some...
I actually fixed the aspect ratio...re exported the video and then loaded up the WRONG video...AGAIN. So.. The new version is going to be loading up in a little bit. Thanks for the compliments. Do you edit stuff as well?
Yea, it sucks between the 3003030120384 different settings that you have to pic to get it right. I love editing stuff "to the beat" in my videos, its very time consuming but I feel that when done right it definitely looks a lot better.
Yea I use FCP to edit, the intro was done with After Effects along with Photoshop. Final Cut is my favorite to edit on. I use Premiere Pro at work and Avid at school but I really don't like either one. Avid especially...its just way to complicated lol.
Occasionally. I did a movie once, that's where I had to learn all the stuff. Now it is only for small projects.
Just editing some one lap videos around tracks. I love making "rock videos", which is ultra short cuts interspersed with other stuff and underlaying heavy metal/rock. Just for the fun of it.
What I see is a 4:3 format and the original is 16:9, it's highly possible that Vimeo may stretch the video to fit their player therefore making everything appear tall and "fat". The intro may appear to be 16:9 because when it is put together in after affects you have to "drop in" the video into a native 4:3 format which does not stretch to fit and allows for the black bounding box at the top and bottom of the screen because the Vimeo player would then perceive the black areas as part of the video. I too edit and produce videos and it's neat to see others who share the same passion for cinematography that I do. www.thunderousproductions.com I have my own website which I put all of our Mid-Atlantic meets on. Hope I was of assistance -Josh
Thanks for the help. It is a 16x9 original video but I exported it as 4x3 settings (my default) by accident. The cruise to Rockford should be fine now. Unfortunately I have to wait til tomorrow to upload the Rodney cruise cause I've maxex out my 500mb limit on Vimeo. So.. after tomorrow everything will be up and running correctly. Let me know if the Rockford video still looks weird. It should be the correct settings now. There's so many different versions of these videos sitting on my desktop that they all kind of look the same so I over look things.
