Now that the word is out on the Scud, what is better and more visceral to drive: an Enzo or a 430 Scud? Who thinks that the Scud represents a better value in terms of thrills and performance per dollar?

I am not in the market for either of these cars but I'm genuinely curious about what you owners perceive about the two models.

Havent driven them but read several reviews of the Scuderia where it says the car was easy. The Enzo was never described as an easy car to drive fast..Id think the Enzo is much more visceral..

I have driven a friends Scuderia breifly, probably 90 miles? but fast. The thing that struck me was the gearchange and the difference the suspension button actually makes! Whilst I have never found the Enzo hard to drive slow or fast, I have driven the Enzo many times on a track, I found the Scuderia that touch more responsive to drive. That said, it is a tricky little thing with CST off, I could drive my F430 all day with CST off, I wouldnt try it in the Scuderia for long....

My verdict, the Enzo wins just for its stability, its extra grunt, its more direct turn-in, and its kind tendness to oversteer managably with no driver aids at all. The Scuderia demands a more attentive driver, one who is very technical and forward thinking, 9/10 times im driving my cars fast, im there to have fun, the times when I need to race, I need the Enzo.

    Hope this helps.

    Kindest Regards

    Michael James

I know this is a ferrari forum however I think it'd be interesting to hear from those that have compared/contrast, after considering purchasing, either the F430 Scud or the Gallardo Lp560-4.

At current price, I don't think either the Enzo nor the Scud represents good value. But ofcourse in this sense, ecnomically, the value is subjective.

During an interview on the p4/5, Jim Glickenhaus made an astute observation that the Enzo is a 7-8 year old car and there have been advances since then that the P4/5 had taken advantage of.

The Scud now has eclipsed the Enzo in performance but not price. When anyone know the total numbers of Scuds produced, we'll see if it has the same rarity.

I havent driven either but have spent a bit of time in a Scud and yes, its an exceptional car but very raw on the road but to compare to an Enzo might be pushing things a bit, yes on the track the Scud would probably have an advantage.

In my opinion out in the real world, away from race tracks both cars would be exceptional and would offer a fantastic driving experience.

For me, my Scuderia feels like a mini-FXX! So, I love it!!

It is a little "fidgety" on bumpy British country lanes and B-roads (Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire), but has felt much better since I dropped the tyre pressures by 0.1bar all round (I did the same with my SLR 722).

The tire issue PSI is a real one. To meet MPG standards MFG.'s are setting tire PSI recommendation's VERY high.

    Cheers

Good idea - found the same on B-roads ("fidgety") and will experiment with dropping the tyre pressures a bit.

I really need to get new tyres soon also, as they're looking a bit worse for wear after 2 days at Spa.

Tire pressure was the cause of the Ford Explorer/Firestone fiasco years ago

Ford told buyers to set the tire pressure too high or too low for the tires, I dont remember which, then the tires slipped off the wheels and everybody started suing Ford, Firestone etc

Ford told buyers to lower the pressure in their tires. . .that and the fact that half of explorer drivers don't give a damn about that sort of maintenance created a problem for the firestone tires, which came apart (sidewalls, etc) causing blowouts.

I believe Ford's suggestion was to lower the car as it had a high rollover tendency.

okay way off topic but the recomendation to lower the pressures was to create a softer ride. Those older explorers rode very similar to a skateboard.
