My posting in his section is next to nil but I do frequent it and got a chuckle out of the title :). I voted for Alonso. I favor Hamilton but I picture Alonso at Ferrari better than I do Hamilton. Like it's been stated by Imola82, it would be nice to see Hamilton and Alonso go at it again, officially :). Maybe after Alonso retires and some other young gun rival comes up then Hamilton can make the switch. I am curious to see what the outcome would be with him behind the wheel of a Ferrari.

I don't think that's proven to be true. Hamilton has finished ahead of Alonso both years he's been in F1. Hamilton is definitely arrogant and cocksure, but Alonso is a major Diva. Either will provide you with some drama, but I'll take Hamilton because everything is about being better than all other drivers (not just winning the championship)

While I'm a huge fan of Alonso and think he is the most complete driver out there at the moment, I did vote for Hamilton: He is a multiple WDC in the making. Alonso has already 2, so he might make it to 4 at the most, but Hami could do another Fangio.

PS: I still have a bet going that Hami will become a multiple WDC. I'm quite sure I'll win that bet over the next few years.

I don't think he's doing anything in a crap Renault. He was in a crap Renault early in the season and did nothing very much, now he's in a not so crap Renault and is doing OK. But his two wins came only because of pit lane c*ck ups, other drivers getting penalties, etc, without those he probably would have struggled to get on the podium.

You have to ask yourself why is the crap Renault now a not so crap Renault?

That's the difference to Hamilton: He doesn't know enough to develop the car. Luckily for him neither do Massa nor Kimi. Somebody like Alonso or Schumacher in the Ferrari or the McLaren would be dynamite.

You assume he had nothing to do with the improvement in the car this season? Yes his wins came when others dropped out but his ability to be in place to avail himself of these opportunities speaks well of him. I'd still take Lewis.

No, I'm sure he will have had a lot to do with the car's improvement and I rate Alonso as one of the best on the grid. I'm simply saying it isn't the crap car it was earlier in the season, it's probably now up there amongst the best of the rest, so Fernando's driving isn't in the superhuman category.

Both are very talented, Alonso is probably faster given the same car. Hamilton is young and has potential, yet lacks experience and courtesy. Alonso is a loonie bin, has a big mouth and his loyalty is questionable at any given time. I would pick LH over Alonso because Alonso is a poor sport while LH has a chance to become a true winner.

Alonso without a doubt is the most complete driver today. He is also the most divisive.
Hami has the most pure speed and is improving in all other areas.
So the question would it be good for Ferrari NOW or long term.
    Alonso now.
    Hami long term.
In reality it will be neither. Vettel is the correct answer.

I couldn't agree more. People talk a lot of stuff, but Fred has been relatively quiet and controversy free all season... he's just been out there driving the wheels of that underpowered Renault.

Also can't argue here - Kimi is a good driver, I'm saying he isn't. What I am saying is that for the highest paid driver in the sport, he damned well better put the points on the board - which is has consistently NOT done this season.

Also on the controversy free list are Button, Barrachello, Glock, Heidfeld, Rosberg, Yada Yada Yada.....
Because they dont live with a microphone in front of their face 24/7 and no-one gives a rats behind. Only when they talk about... who ? Then its newsworthy.

Dont be so quick to be manipulated by the press.
