4892... it has no PPG paint stickers. But it seems to be winning awards at Judged Shows :-0 Image Unavailable, Please Login
This picture is an obvious photoshop fake - there's 25 people around that car and only ONE of them is looking at it! Thankfully the young man in the picture proves that there is another generation of Lamborghini enthusiasts waiting to come through. Bax.
Still waiting for my photographer but here's some of my best efforts to date. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bax: This car was originally delivered to where? Do you have the vin? It has the clear (i.e., non-fluted) headlight lenses. I have been told that clear lenses were only installed on German/Swiss delivery cars. 1021 has the non-flutted lenses and was delivered to Switzerland. Conversely, the Marriott car #3 has flutted lenses which are reported to be original. How rare are the clear lenses then? (maybe we can do what the american car people do: it's one of 50 cars with manual transmission, red interior, built on a Tuesday after a holiday). Can anyone elaborate on this (meaning the clear vs. fluted lens thing)? Thanks. Alberto
Was there an early Lamborghini dealer called Motorcycle Motors or similar? Anyone know in which country?
Hi Speedy2, your posting was so unusual, that i looked over your 11 past postings and i got a funny feeling after quickly reviewing your posts. Speedy2 please do us all a favor and pursue this paint sticker topic with Jeff Stephan please. It appears you have spoken recently with Jeff about the authenticity of this PPG sticker issue for some reason? Get the chassis numbers of the existing oem stickered Miura or something we can verify. Thank you for your help on this Joe. Craig
Joe, i hope i am not insinuating that you would lie about something as simple as "dual PPG paint stickers" on Miura 4884 or that you would lie about not having photos of the Miura 4884 prior to restoration or that you would lie about having removed the dual PPG stickers and thrown them away. That certainly was not my intention. We both know that if we found someone giving false information casually about the seemly small stuff on Miura, most likely might be prone to giving false information about the larger issues. We have enough misinformation on Miura as it is. What is needed, however, to clear this matter up of dual PPG paint stickers on 4884, are some revealing photos of 4884 prior to restoration. Maybe Gary has a set he could provide? one the crew in Bobileff's shop? Somehow your comment of "proof of this shared in several venues" doesnt make any sense to me. Can you review this proof for all of us? I certainly have not seen any convincing graphical proof to date, but would like to see such. Thanks for your help in this Miura detail Craig
Hi Marcel, Excellent photos of 3619! thank you for posting. Can you crop the PPG sticker down to just the sticker and post the results please. We need a higher resolution on just the sticker to see its details. Where is this P400 Miura today? Tell us more about it's 70's Texas ownership if possible please. Does anyone get the connection here? thanks Craig
Hi, have you noticed this: http://www.autosalon-singen.de/Katalog-Lamborghini-Miura-P400-SV-J-07864_0001_01_08.aspx?languageID=en
Craig, Unusual posting? I don't post here often only because most post are directed at Vin #'s and pictures. That's OK. I am however more interested in the mechanical and originality side of these cars. So when you question why I would ask Jeff about the PPG stickers it's because I OWN A MIURA and he's one of the best out there for information reguarding original cars. That seems to bother you for some reason??? You've even talked to him yourself! I didn't start this thread about the stickers so why is it doing everyone a favor by me pursuing this with Jeff?? I'm not interested in a pisssing contest with anyone on this site or any other. I don't have a thing to prove to anyone here. As Mr. Sackey said earlier, why are they displayed on your web site? Lastly, as far as documentation goes I'm not the one to provide that. I don't keep tabs on VIN numbers.
Yes it was simply called "Motorcyle" and it was an un-official Lamborghini dealer based in Switzerland according to my notes, which I think are correct.
I also noted Switzerland but its strange to see that all Miura which were delivered by these dealer are RHD (#4527, #4802, #4839, #4845). My assumption is that this was a British dealer which was based in Switzerland for tax reasons.
Motorcycle or Motorcyle, never heard of them, also in the registry it was nowhere mentioned that these car went to switzerland, I have all the VIN's which tha factory says went to my country, definitely not the mentioned ones...
