Brundels contribution as a commentator is invaluable on TV IMO. I love his pit walks and special features were he drives the cars as well. Along with DC and Brundel as well as it now being aired on BBC i think its great. Two F1 drivers and a channel with ZERO commercials:D Yay!!!
By the way i have not read Brundels Sunday Times piece on Spygate. That passed me by. Any Links to the article at all? The FIA are a dictatorship IMO.

Good move on the BBC's part - MB has made boring Grand Prix's almost bearable this year....

Madmax should stick to the good work he is doing with reducing budgets and standardising equipment for '09......

doesn't brundle have an action against the FIA if they are unfairly trying to intervene and cause his career harm? I would think there would be monetary damages involved.

Every successful professional race series that has endured for multiple years has been run by a dictatorship. It will not succeed if run by the teams. NASCAR, IRL, even ALMS, SCCA, NHRA are all dictatorships.

    As it should be.

If the teams don´t like it, they can go play elsewhere. Except for ChampCar/IRL, I do not recall many teams leaving to run another series. And teams did not leave ChampCar because of dictatorship, they left because CC was not well run and a losing proposition.

Same with F1 and the FIA. Take Toyota for example. They could have used the Mosley incident, rules interpretation problems, etc, and left the series saving face not using their gigantic monetary loss over all these years with proportionately minimal results. But they stay. As will all the current F1 teams not in financial difficulty. Because despite the dictatorship, F1 works, and these team owners are making tons of money.

And there is only one F1 series that will somehow endure.

I applaud BBC for doing the right thing. How can it be interesting if commentators aren't allowed to express a reasonable opinion?

Brundle is a fantastic commentator. I wish I could view the BBC coverage next season, but I'm stuck with the boring Speed TV crew.

You can download torrents of many british F1 broadcasts at www.racing-underground.com :) I've watched almost this entire season qualifying and races on british broadcasts (albeit a day or two after the race has actually happened)

After years of Brundle's jingoism I had hoped for someone else. At least DC has been on an F1 grid within living memory and both eyes open.

I am really glad that they have kept Martin and I will be having a celebratory drink during the Brazilian GP to toast the end of James Allens career and all the pain and suffering he has caused me and millions of others with his whining over the top and annoying commentary.

If you can I would highly recommend you look at the photos on this site as they are hilarious: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2386393199&ref=mf#/group.php?gid=2239429773

Never get to hear Brundle--it would be nice to have BBC telecasts as an option, though our announcers aren't too bad. Max should stay true to his own comments: In his other interview, he feels the press should only be restrained when it comes to the personal sex lives of people. Maybe when his assistant read the article to him, she interpreted the words as "Spygate is fncking the championship up."

...a bit unfair I think. The Speed crew are much better than they are given credit for. Hobbs, Matchet and Varsha do a great job nearly every race weekend, and Peter Windsor is without doubt one of the best insiders in the business. Believe me, we could do a LOT worse.

We don't have a Grand Prix but we get both: Brundle and Varsha. Very handy when the commercials are running on the other channel!

+1. i've had to listen to that prick for the best (or in this case worst) part of 4 years. I'm a little bit sad to see him go, i'd really like to kick him in the nuts on live tv...

    -

DC and brundle would be good, they both have the attitude of 'two fingers to the PC brigade', and i like that. Who is the new girl reporting again? maybe DC will refer to her nipples as well when he thinks the camera's are off...:D

I say bring back Murray Walker! :D

He would make me laugh by getting all excited about something and then realizing it was only a back marker!

Brundle is great though. I don't know how people watch the SPEED feed. They aren't even actually at the race....just watching it on TV like us. How exciting can you make it that way? The UK feed is much more insightful and they don't cut away to show truck racing either....
