I have a pouch that the original owner (who vaguely remembers) says "supposedly" came with my 1965 275 GTS. If anyone has any thoughts i would greatly appreciate it. Please see the attached pictures.
If anyone knows what it is could they give me an idea of what it is worth as i might have to trade it for what i need.

    Thanks

I have been up and down the INTERNET and all over every Ferrari site on the planet to find a picture of a complete set of manuals and items for a 1965 GTS. Does anyone have a complete set and provide a picture?
What is used for a guideline when judging.

    Thanks

    Neil

Have to love the prices; in some cases, double the original cost of the car!

Two (2) things I don't understand: how do the manuals (and jack/tools, for that matter) become separated from the car, and how/where do these vendors obtain them for resale at such exorbitant prices?

    First question is easy:
Lots of people like to hang on to mementos of their cars when they sell them.
Back in the day the manuals and tools had no value on their own, and I bet many second hand buyers didn't even know the cars were supplied with them.
For example I have manuals for my father's 300SL. He sold it around 1964 to Colin Crabbe. Colin who must be one of the cutest car dealers on the planet would surely have asked for them if they were important to him back then.

Dealers separate them thinking buyers won't notice so they can sell them later. These things haven''t just become high priced, been high for decades.
All the dealers reading your thread must be laughing with sides splitting.

Last car I bought from Symbollic had everything missing, suprising that Bill Noon has posted that he has a vast collection of the same.

From an ethical viewpoint, the manuals and tools are part of the car; would they try to sell it without one of the doors, a steering wheel or an engine?

Those would make nice mementos... ;)

I never had A 275 gts but manuals are the same for 275gtb. The ones for sale, incl pouch look right, except I dont know what the red one is.

My limited concours experience seems to indicate that pouch, OM and parts book is all you need.

Re separation of books and tools, I have heard the saying from salesment that i know (knew)"in with out without"

I knew one guy who worked for 3 different dealers who had a massive inventory of tools/ manuals and sales literature.

The only cars I have had with complete tools/books were bought new or nearly new.

The rest I obtained form said saleaman

Leather wallet is definately not correct. I have 4 of them that came with cars.
It looks, to my limited knowledge, as probably 250 era.
As for the factory green re-print books, they are perfectly concourse fine. I have had them judged many times. My theory is that the factory had to have re-printed the books in period and furnished later cars with them.

My 275 long nose was bought from and delivered at Ferrari (April 66)and had a different pouch. Is this a transition, a case of what was lying around the parts bin. or what.

I did not buy the car new, but tools, books, etc were in it and correct and I dont think somewone would substitute a different folder and not just take the tooks, all books, etc.

    Who knows.
