    Man gets ticket for driving at 310mph

    A Romanian driver was stunned to receive a speeding ticket - for driving his 15-year-old Renault at 310mph.

    Driver Toader Moise, 62, was told he had clocked up the incredible speed in the narrow, bendy streets of the mountain city of Sinaia.

    The car, which had a maximum speed of 110mph when it was brand new, is up for sale but Mr Moise is now considering upping the price.

    "It was really hilarious and I think I should get into the book of records with this," he said. "How could I drive my 15-year-old Renault K65 at 310mph when I can barely get her do 70mph?"

    Police are investigating to see if the speeding ticket was down to a radar malfunction or a mistake by the officer who wrote the ticket

    The British paper has clearly converted to mph, the last Imperial unit used in England (waits for anoraks to "correct" me.)

    Note that 310 mph is 500km/h.
