Today @ the Riverside Auction 10/23/08 MB Financial offered a Red /tan 599 GTB with 6kmi was offered for 255k , they first wanted 260k and Manhattan Motor Cars offered 250k and later the MB rep told me they would let it go for 255k maybe less, in 2 weeks when it will be re offered it will be available for $240-245k. If it is not sold by then. The only story with the car is that it had slight damage to the side mirror. a $175 fix. PM me if interested.

I saw that car on my power search through Manheim. What red was it? Rosso Corsa(bright red) or Dark Red Metallic?

Was the car clean?? I mean perfect clean? The condition report for that car was lacking and it said Avg 3.0 condition which usually isn't good.

    Heard about that car too.
Hard 6k miles as I understand, interior not in best shape and a need for new paint on that car.
Steel brakes and basic equipment on top of it....
At that price though, might be a cheap ticket to 599 heaven for someone

I was there and bid up to 250 for the car. It was clean and far from needing a paint job. Small crack on the right mirror housing. The price was dirt cheap due to our economic times, not that it wasn't a nice car.

Why didn't you pay $255k? if it was worth 250 it had to be worth 255 right?

I do not think so. I would definitely buy a newer model Ferrari or Lambo 1-3 years old with less than 5k on it , but anything older or higher miles I would very hesitant. Especially the dealer consignments, I always stay away. Factory and Bank cars are fine. the rest are a shill game.

you cannot you need to know a licensed dealer. Most licensed dealers are members of different auction companies , Adesa, Manheim etc.

Buyers know teh market is soft and getting softer, seen this in the RE market several times. They know that if they hold off they believe they can get the same at cheaper. It is a snowballing mentality and unfortunately for sellers it is correct in this market.

I inspected the car yesterday 11/19/08, and besides the mirror, it was Very Nice!. No need for a total re-paint as previously posted . Far superior to the red/black car @ the LA auto gallery that was very rough. It had rick chips all over the front of it and it was still in the showroom, the riverside car was a good buy and I' am sure the new owner will enjoy it.

Not that I disagree with the general downward trend in prices, but when have you ever seen ANYTHING on a Ferrari that was a "$175 fix"?

You can probably replace missing tire valve stem caps for that.

    I get your drift . . . but here are a few . . .(insignificant, I admit)

    Oil change less than $175.
    Dash light dimmer switch $110.
Plexiglass speedometer cover (I think that is what you call it) $150.
Floor mats $145 from Cavalari in Monaco. (The dollar was/is weak.)

    OR . . .

You can do an aftermarket cup holder in the window sill for $2.99, but I wouldn't recommend it.
You could get one of those plastic, gold crown air fresheners for your front dash--with velcro tie-down--for $9.99.
You can get LED interior mood lighting for $45.
For a really cool look, you could get a faux diamond wrap around your rearview mirror for $25.
You can get a faux-diamond encrusted MErcedes Benz emblem and glue it to the back of each outside mirror for $20.

THEN YOU BE PIMPIN' BIG TIME!

My last oil change at Ferrari of Atlanta, including filter, was $145.

    (Oil change only.)

Gary, I bring my own 0W-30 Mobil 1. Labor pretty cheap. 1 year service with oil was 300. 12's have 3 year warranty now, and chains, so when you look at service book, maintenance is not much to speak of. Hope car is getting out some before snowed in.
