Franco, I want to take a moment and tell you how sorry I am for being a rude jerk towards you previously and how out of line I was. Sorry about insulting you and being a big jerk.

Thank you angus, I was out of line towards him, and I ashamed of what I posted.

Jim, he should step up and pay the bet period, and I like Ted.

A very rare act of kindness there by apologising on here:) Very thoughtful:)
There are more than a few nasty arse holes who could learn a lot from that who post on here IMO.
    Well Done that man;)

I appreciate this thread, thanks Tony.

Franco and Tony, go fight with each other about racing. Be clever, nasty and harsh, but don't get personal.

Sadly I haven't met either of you, but I'm sure we'd have a lot more to talk over several beers than others. Racing in general creates passion and Ferrari and F1 in particular. The arguments can get heated, but let's keep the tone civil.

I'm always using the wife rule: My wife couldn't care less about F1. So would she support it, if I'd call somebody disagreeing with me some rude name? She wouldn't and therefore a lot of non involved folks wouldn't either. That's why it shouldn't be written in the first place.

    Kumbaya.

    I don't know Tony. I still don't like the wing on Franco's 355.

Now that is a funny Post. I still don't like Franco's wing either nor do I agree with what he posts mostly in this section, but again I should have never attacked him personally. However, in the best interest of Ferrari Chat he should take that wing off.

I like the wing a lot. In fact I like any add-on wing on a Ferrari. It is so F1. But that's just me.

Very big of you to make this post Tony. It's easy to get 'overly passionate' when talking racing :) And especially easy with Franco, since he's such a jerk! Just kidding Franco :) Franco is a man of conviction too and sometimes two guys with strong opinions clash. Always a good thing when they can work it out and put it in the past.

I like both of ya so I'm glad to see the hatchet buried (other than in someone's head, I mean). Now, I am gonna duck out of this thread before it becomes a sausage-fest-make-out-session. See ya!

Something tells me that it is buried in 1 inch deep sand...:)

Apart from that my best advice: Don't drink and type.

Not bad, that’s 2 threads dedicated to me in 2 months......Whoooooa!
But seriously....I accept your apology. We all have bad days and the rest of us should realize that members can make some bad posts and then regret it. I’ve done it. BUT A WHOLE THREAD TONY?!!! :):) ..I’ve said it before and I would like to say it again. If one cannot say it to someone’s face then it has no place in here. And I’m not saying this just for Tony and I but everyone. There are about 2 dozen or so regulars in this section and we have to find a way to welcome new posters without driving them away. Some of the stuff that has gone on in the past year and a half (mostly involving Ted and I, Ted and many others actually) is not a good thing. Ted got personal all too many times and would never admit to being wrong and he got worse when other regulars sided with him. I think that policing this site is up to the regulars in here and not just Andreas and Dave. We have to learn when to back off on an argument or discussion without taking it to the next level. Its human nature to want to have the last word but when 2 posters with a strong opinion meet then it can go on forever and sometimes get personal. Wasn’t it the gentlemanly thing we used to say....."Never corner anyone. Always leave the other guy an out"

Anyway thanks Tony and I have enjoyed the discussion much more lately.

    Thank you.

And remember folks: There are 5 mods in racing (scroll to the bottom of the forum's page to find them). So if you're not happy with e.g. my decision/action/inaction, you can always take it to another mod or to Rob Lay himself. Also any message you ping, fires off a notification to all 5 of us. Not just to Dave and me.

This isn't "my" forum. I'm just the one guy amongst the 5 mods who happens to care the most about F1, hence I'm here so often.

Tony has always been a gentleman, and a great contributor on this forum on FChat. We all get a bit emotional at times about our team and F1 in general, I know I have. The best way to approach this is to only answer the post we are addressing, and not to individually mention the person making the post.

    Good job, as always, Tony.

+1 for Senna1994. Strength and humility seem to be his hallmarks here :)

Nice thread. Its the last race, its been a good season overall. Im already dreading the down time until winter testing and the new cars' debuts.

Ive got to get a life!!! :)

The only thing worse for me than the FIA's post race rulings will be the dreaded down time. Just today I took out my winter project: A kit of MS' 2004 F1 in 1/12. That'll keep me busy for a few months.

The bet turned out to be based on a sub prime. :)

I've discussed Ted with several of you thru a PM and this is the first time that I have spoken about Ted on this forum. I wanted to give him every opportunity to come clean or speak up, but it never happened. I'm very surprised that I misjudged him. But I am a guy who gives every human being the benefit of the doubt, before jumping on the wagon. Maybe I have too much faith in mankind. I too had a measly $100 bet with Ted, but it wasn't the money, it was the principle. I was willing to let it slide in the name of a friendship. The snide and belittling remarks by others regarding Ted only lower your level to the one in which you are bashing. Say what you want, but he was well informed on F1 racing. Agree or dissagree with him and he could become ruthless. I respected his F1 knowledge, but he lost a lot of respect with me by not facing the music. We all need to ne honest about ourselves to others here. The problem is the Internet provides a Holloween costume for anyone who wants to wear one.
