was really an awesome car the yellow color really suits the car imo! i attach an engine pic of this amazing piece of lambo history not 100% under the bonnet is exactly factory correct detail BUT looks wonderfull Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sadly not, neither Wallace nor Zmpolli. When they go they take their skills with them. Which reminds me, I better check on that 500 bhp dry-sumped "How much power do you want, Joe" Countach engine Claudio is building for me
Emilio, Do you remember the way he was "speeding" on the highway to Modena...cruising on the middle of 2 lanes...because he has no side mirrors...
I have at home a huge list of suppliers and local Italian shops that Lamborghini regularly use for restorations, etc. and Top Motors is on this list. BTW, the list was sent to me by factory personel.
No sweat Glen. The registry is not always accurate but at least some info is better than no info. In this case it prompted someone to comment with actual info. Once all the tong in cheek comments are weeded out, there are actually good info in these posts. I'll look at the bright side, everyone's comment or writing is being challenged and that is healthy. I wished they would have done that about credit default swaps maybe we would have live reality all along instead of discovering it abruptly. In that regards: I counted 6 French lp400. I know there are readers here who are on the up and up of cars in France. Is this accurate? 1120262 1120248 1120232 1120224 1120198 1120176 Most of these cars were on sale there
Glen, I would be greatful if you posted that list (or alternatively, perhaps you can pm or e-mail it to me; you can use my yahoo address from VLG if you prefer). Thanks Alberto
Emilio, Do you know this 25th ? I've shoot picture of VIN, Registry says it was black/black...resprayed then ? When imported back from Austria to Italy ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes very well owned by the same guys that had the 06G and diablo GT....and others :-o i think it never was respraied neither it was ever in Austria, it had only some 6-7k Kms when they bought it in France from Levy (had yellow fog lights) it now has some 9500 Kms and an ANSA sport muffler
Of course I remember the guys, father and son... Does it mean that Registry made a mistake ??? Glen are you there ?
Giorgio, unfortunately i did not meet you there. I hope to meet you in the future, perhaps during one of your events. I owe 1 Euro to you.
1) Top Motors did not do the whole restoration. A bodyshop and a paintshop, both located 40 kms away from Top Motors, were involved. And a well known upholsterer. 2) Please present a 100pt restoration before telling us which is the best workshop. You may have Porsche experience, but Lamborghini experience? 3) It is no good style to appear "from nowhere" to the Lamborghini community, attacking Glen and Joe. Please update your Jaramaregistry before attacking Glen. I appreciate your efforts with the Jarama, and I think it is great that someone does something for the Jarama. But your style is not always good.
www.jaramaregistry.com His idea to set up a Jarama registry is good, but it is not updated regularly (like Glen's registry). Such a registry needs a lot of time which most of us do not have. Therefore it is normal that these registries are incomplete or incorrect, no question.
Thanks to appreciate the work that still need to be more accurate on JaramaRegistry...as I'm chasing informations from worldwide...and of course prior to that website I'm taking care of my family and I'm running my Business (that is not a Lambo Business). So, if I can make one update/a year, I will be satisfy, as my website was launched last year, I still have a couple of months to do it before 2009... While supplying informations to have updates of ILR, yes I was disappointed to not see them showed on ILR. BUT I do understand Glen is running out of time, as I'm doing...and if we can still help him to be more accurate, we have to do it, don't you think ! I'm feeling confortable when I'm pointing a mistake, the more accurate is the ILR the best it is. Because more and more new people are coming to have a look at it ! ILR is THE REFERENCE... Do you prefer to have such a wonderful work with some mistakes or to be 100% accurate ? With my life philosophy, I prefer 100% accurate... No intention to make Glen "guilty", just an invitation to correct...sound quiet different ! Like in my Introduction & Acknowledgments in the JaramaRegistry, I'm inviting everyone for any corrections and I'm congratulating Glen's website. So, if my "style" is not of yours, with "humility" I will consider all your good comments in order to be better (you can post PM). BUT : "Don't put the wrong words in my mouth..." there is no attack (translated from French) I already noticed there is a "slight difference" between European mentalities to US guys, you seems to be more on edge...any comment is taken as critic !!! Where is your sense of humour... When you were kids playing in the playground, like me, my father owned a bench of sport cars, as 3x Lamborghini from late '60s to the end of '70s. So speaking about my first contact with Lambo community, I don't feel as having a delay... as we were very close friends to the Belgian Lambo importers : Mr. Roisin/S.O.C.A.R.I.A. and after with Mr. Hollebecq ! I don't feel as I've to justify all my Lambo history or all my involvment in the Lambo community (where is the border ?), that one is not limited to F-Chat...or you should have said : "...to appear "from nowhere" to F-Chat..." Regarding my Porsche experience that was extended to the highest level required to play in FIA playground, I can tell "a car is still a car" what so ever is the brand... and besides I've personnaly owned 4x Lambos, just bought my 5th one, 2 weeks ago. Again as I've already said in another post, sometimes it looks like "Inquisition" overhere...this is a kind of humour... There are too many nice guys around here and so many to learn from each other experience, keep quiet ! end of comment !
+1 My understanding is that you criticized Glen months ago for being too slow and then came nothing from you for a long time. Later you published that your site will be updated only once a year because it takes a huge amount of time. It is understandable that the update is done once a year. It is not ok to critize Glen for being too slow and then to do the same he does. But I understand the following sentences to be an explanation so it is ok for me: As said above: +1 OK no attack, but my understanding was that you blackened Glen. I think in the end we both can agree that it takes a huge amount of time to run a site like ILR and Jaramaregistry and that therefore short-term updates and corrections are difficult. Please see above, my understanding was different. But now it is ok for me. I'm European, too... I wrote that you are "coming from nowhere" because I never heard of you before you appeared in Fchat and set up your registry. Your name is not a big name in the Lamborghini world, that's what I meant. No problem, my name also is no big name there It is more important to be enthusiastic about Lamborghini, and that is an attribute you have. Coming from nowhere does not mean that there is no Lamborghini experience. Telling us that Top Motors' Lamborghini experience and knowledge is unmatched could indicate little Lamborghini experience, but I must admit that they are good and that you only wrote that it is your opinion so it is ok for me, too. Your Porsche experience is not questioned here. Which cars did you own and which car did you acquire? You're making uns curious. I am already quite silent... Perhaps you better understand what I meant after reading this post. No attack by my side, I assume we can live with the result of the discussion. The same applies to me.
I've started with a Jalpa in 1990, then in 1995 a 25th Anniversary Countach, in 1996 my father's Jarama GTS...nothing for a while (Porsche & Ferrari)... in 2007 my present Jarama GTS and 2 weeks ago...that's a surprise that will be part of an entire article...too soon to tell you about right now, be patient ! Which country are you from ?
Great sequence of cars. When will you reveal you newest acquisition? I am from Germany. Best regards Christian (LC3929)
I think I'll leave it up anyways. It's still a lot easier to correct mistakes on a web site than a printed book or article.
Very soon the ILR will become my full time job. So updates and corrections will be quiter and more frequent. I'm sure this will make everyone happy.
