Ditto, I like to buy special lower production cars and I would have a hard time letting them go, so if all keeps going well(fingers crossed) I will just keep adding to the stable.

"ARE YOU GONNA KEEP YOUR F-car FOREVER?"

    Yep. That is the intent.

    I hope to "Buy-Up," however; I'd NEVER "Trade-Up."

I'd only sell mine for a white Lamborghini LP640 or a black 430 Scuderia

Had the Lusso for 30 years and the 360 for three years. Have the 575M for the past two. At my age The 575 will most likely be the last one.

I don't marry my cars, drive them as much as I can, as I enjoy them on the road much more then looking at them in the garage.
When a new,hot model comes to market I just lose interest in the old one and have to get the latest.
Sometimes I think (my wife shares the thought) that I'm "cursed" (replacing all cars ,hers, daily atc every year or less).

I 'plan' to keep mine a long time. When you have the best, why get rid of it.

The 430 is my 5th car, and I suspect my last new Ferrari. I do want a 60s V12 though, and if and when the prices come down enough, I'll probably get one.

My plan is to not sell a "car toy" again.
I want to carefully select cars that have a special appeal to me and fill into a "grid" of styles and then add them to my collection.

    By "grid" I mean:
Sportscar, track car, GT, convertible, vintage, 4-door work-horse (this one will likely change every few years).

Right now the grid looks like:
SportsCar: Maserati GranSport--> A blast to drive, go-kart like handling, with functional back seats for kids to come along. Love it!
GT: Ferrari 550 Maranello--> nothing needs to be said, one of the greatest cars every created. :)
Convertible: (someday) either a Series I Jag E-type or Ferrari 355 spyder, or AM Vantage, or Maserati GranTurismo convertible, or 1960's Corvette....:)
Vintage: (someday) Jag E-type may kill 2 birds with one stone, or Maserati Bora, Maserati 3500 (my dream), I doubt I'll be able to afford a 1950's-60's Ferrari. Maybe a 512BBi would qualify...:)
Track Car: (someday) join club and race "radicals", Atom, or Porsche GT3 if going it alone.

I like to buy classics, not the latest shiny ones

The F40 is a legendary supercar so thats not leaving my garage anytime soon

The 512TR is a great GT car and far better looking than any new car so thats staying too

This thread needs a little correction IMO because no one keeps their Ferrari "forever" -- it can only be "until death".

I just shake my head when I read these threads with people wringing their hands about the F values (although I think its a pefectly legitamate subject for discussion). IMO, you should be a lot more worried about what happened to CoachI, and, regardless of how much he drove his F, it wasn't enough :(

With all due respect...no one was wringing their hands about F Values in this thread.
People are just discussing whether they like to change F-cars often, add to their collection, or happy to keep the one they currently own forever.....we all know what "forever" means.
    Thanks.

So far my "long-term" Ferraris are my Daytona, 288 GTO and F40. The clear number 1 is the 288 GTO. I am hoping to add the 430 Scuderia Spider to my "long-term" collection as I really enjoy an open top and this shows great promise given how much I like my 430 Scuderia. "Forever" is too long for me to contemplate. Sh_t happens in life and who knows anything other than 1 day we will all move on and the key is to enjoy everyday as if it is the last since we get no advance warning on when the last will be

360, no. Daytona, very likely, or put it toward something more special. 456MGT for sure (very elegant, won't be able to find this color combination again). 550 Straman Spyder yes.

No plans to sell, I got the one I wanted.

But, with older cars, you never know when the perfect next car is going to pop up.

No, and it'll probably be gone if the right price came along. Current one has a lot of tech problems and despite great feel, not as fast as I hoped. Porsche is tough because it is a great car, but prices seem too good to pass up not to move. I think its one of the few cars one can move now and not have to worry about taking a hit.
