YEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAA. Just got my seats for game 4............... Section 136 first row. Gave my middle nut for em.
lucky...back in 06 i sat in the waiting room for 2+hours to no avail for tickets, i didn't care how much it was gonna cost me, i was going to buy the best possible seats i could. it's gonna be a good one...2 new teams in the series...the first since 93 i think for the phillies, and the first time ever for the rays
Wow, my regular season 17 game plan this year was section 135. You are so unbelievably lucky to have first row. If Pat makes a bad play he'll hear you complain. I know I could get some awesome photos from first row 136. Thanks
I think I'm in 141 for the same game. If you're there early find the RV parking and look for one with WV logos on it...I'm guessing we'll be there by 4/5ish.
The Phillies are in the World Series. Could that be the most beautiful sentence you've ever read? I can't afford tickets to the games. But if they win, you'd better believe I'll be on Broad St for the parade. GO PHILS! And is it coincidence.... '80 Phils ~ '08 Phils 45 McGraw ~ 54 Lidge .... makes you think....
the first game was a good one, i would love to see a 7 game series for once this year, it's been a few years since we've seen a really good ws. of course i'm all for the cardinals sweeping in 4 games, but for any other team playing, i want it to be a nail biter. the rays weren't able to get a hit after the 5th inning, and their 2, 3, and 4 hitters were held hitless, the first time in the postseason that's happened.
I went into the game with zero feelings either way and eventually found myself happy for the Phillies at the beginning and pulling for the Rays at the end.... Go figure....
Typical Dodger...fan. I was nervous! 11 men left on base, no production from Howard or Rollins. Good thing it's a good TEAM! Let's see if good Meyers or bad Meyers shows up tonight...no chance to make up for it with his bat this time though. I think there will be at least one high scoring game in this series where both teams come around and just bash the ball. Probably in Philly with the cold weather. Come on Phils! (Hey, I've been a fan since 1986...about time they come around!)
in the late 1800's, the series used to be called the "world championship series" basically, their goal in the early days of baseball was to truly make it a world-wide game, but it wasn't until much later, and 50+ years after the modern era of the game began, that other countries began to catch on (japan, cuba, mexico, etc.) however, there have been 2 instances in which it has really been a world series, the toronto blue jays won it back to back in 93 and 94. i gotta say, i hate, and i mean, absolutely hate bud selig. however, he made a great decision last night calling the game when he did, imagine the uproar that would have been caused outside of philly had the series been won based on rule 4.12-6 (it really is sad that i know the rule number for shortened games, ) and the phillies won the series on a rain out. i'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one, come to think of it, it's the only thing i really approve of him doing since he took over as commissioner.
The umpires should've suspended the game immediately following the pop up Rollins dropped. It was pretty obvious that this play was affected by the winds and rain. Lucky no one got hurt from getting a cleat stuck running in the mud or a ball in the face! Booooooooooooo!
this about sums up my thoughts on bud selig: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/27426415/ the absolute right thing to do would have been suspend game 5 indefinitely after seeing the radar prior to the beginning of the game, but i'm sure the networks would have thrown a fit about that, and refused, so i can understand why they attempted to play. selig should have been done by now, he should have been done next year, but no, he had to be given a contract extension through 2012. once that comes around, he'll probably ask for an extension through 2015, so on and so forth. baseball will be a better game without him. just my .02
