    Hey Guys,

Should the driver side and passenger side be the same ride height? I have been told that the driver side should be a little higher by a few people, but don't understand why? If it is how much should it be, and please tell me why? If not I'm wondering why mine is... My tire pressure is the same in front and back, and I'm 3/8" in. taller on the driver side, both front and rear?

    Thanks,
    Reg

If your passenger side is a tad lower than the drivers side then you may want to stop hauling around those big girls I see walking the Vegas strip ..:D

The suspension is adjustable. There are spring perches on the shocks that are threaded, turn up 3/8". Or get a "No Fat Chicks" bumper sticker.

Under no circumstances should one side of the car be higher by a few people. A few centimeters maybe, but not by any length remotely approaching a person, or multiples thereof.

If you wind the thread up 3/8" it will lift the car more than 3/8".

I have not noticed mine being higher on the drivers side, but where I'm from that's the passenger side (you guys got the cheap models with the steering wheel on the wrong side :p , my steering wheel is on the right side ;))

I'll take a look and report back to you when I am home....

Sorry I have done it a few times on my challenge car, if I want 3/4" or 1/2" I wind it up or down that amount and that is what i get.

    Interesting.....

I just tried to search and find the thread I had read about this topic, no luck. I would like to retract my earlier statement as I have no first hand experience with this and as Llenroc has experience i would follow his judgement.

James, you got me thinking. My experience is on the challenge set up, with road cars having longer springs with a softer rate an arbitrary adjustment may not net the same static increase on the road cars as it does on my CH. Ear-regardless my original comments were more on the fact that the OP could adjust his suspension

Totally agree, Reg can just make an adjustment to level things up. :)

From my notes I have this...

The Ferrari 348 and 355 front ratio is 0.70 and the rear is 0.85. So, lowering/raising the spring collar 0.70 inch in the front and 0.85 inch rear lowers/raises the chassis uniformly one inch and maintains the relative ride height front to rear (chassis rake).

Perhaps there is a difference between the CH and road cars?

How hard is it to lower? What kind of tools do I need?

It will not be terribly hard to lower, you need the tool for the large crown style nut on the spring platform (Standard style available from a good auto parts store). Removing the front strut is some times necessary to allow you to reduce the pressure on the platform with spring compressors.
Make sure you get a good wheel alignment done after and suspension adjustments.

I am getting around to lowering mine, read plenty on the topic but as yet have not done the deed.

Is the drivers side higher with or without the driver?

I may make sense to sit ever so slightly higher without the driver and then when you add 200# in the drivers seat it evens out.

    Thoughts??

True. It probably depends on whether you drive mostly alone or with a passenger.

Daniel at Ricami has the right tool for the job... I adjusted mine about six months ago... I used spring compressors and the tool from Ricambi... piece of cake!
