I have attended 3 shows recently in hopes of seeing a nice 100 point car, but alas not one boxer at all.

Are the cam covers supposed to be wrinkle black on a 74 365?

    Thanks,

Cam covers black, timing covers Ive seen natural and black wrinkle. Natural on a very early 365, Davids which Im sure is a 74 is black wrinkle on both but he may have just preferred that and made his that way.

My cam covers were originally Black wrinkle paint...and had them re-done, as original. However, the timing belt covers were originally unfinished aluminum. As I have seen these covers both "natural" and "black wrinkle", I painted them (with wrinkle paint) to match the valve covers...

You've got a very interesting Boxer, Simon. I've got some info on my registry - it was typed by a previous owner after April 2004, but I don't know who it is. Is it still black, and does it still sport that fantastic reg no? It looks fantastic on that photo I have.

It is still original black and still in superb codition. I ahv owned teh car since May 2003. When I bought it teh UK registration number was 365 ANP but I changed it to 365 BOX in 2005 (I think).

What was teh interesting history you have?

Thanks for the pics but now I have to whine. You painted the engine, all it takes is some determination, time and elbow grease and you can make it look like new again without lathering it with lunar moon boot silver paint. This is my 308 engine, same silumin alloy, no paint just a lot of scrubbing. Your boxer deserves the best.
