On the subject of Rod Stewart's cars - I assume the story about having the stiletto marks in the headlining removed during it's restoration is just a story

Earlier today and on your behalf the wife & I have undertaken a spot of historical motoring research and try as we might & no matter how we position ourselves it's just not physicaly possible to get your legs into a position where your heels would be in contact with the headlining with both people in the car at the same time.

Tomorrow we're going to try it with her wearing the shoes to see if that helps.

    Bax.

LOL. Just a story, and not a particularly convincing one...

Perhaps if you keep the doors open with her braced on the center console and you on the other side, one could partake in certain activities that might require bracing of the legs on the roof...

Ah yes, but therein lies a small problem: the Miura's the hand-brake lever may first have to be disassembled and removed in order to facilitate the aforementioned scenario that you describe. Even then, it is likely that Bax will have to ply his good wife with a not inconsiderable amount of alcohol in order to convince her to put up with what will certainly be a goodly degree of discomfort! The proviso with all this is to ensure that the car is not parked on any kind of a slope, or else failure to use a solid wheel-chock will result in the handbrake-less Miura beginning to roll away during the course of the proceedings! This could be awkward. Bearing in mind that this is the inappropriate venue for pics of this subject to be posted, at the very least a schematic illustration will be helpful for those wanting to explore this possibility.

Pictures of interior and engine bay taken recently following the factory restoration, the car is now owned by UK collector Peter Sowerby,as for the R.Stewart stories there are many involving various girl friends but some of the best stories are from Peter Hay who owned the other yellow RHD SV 4816 from new,he has various period pictures from the 70's,he also used to meet up with Stewart who lived nearby at the time on the M4 into London and park them together outside bars etc [rare site in London even in the 70's]

Thanks for the photos Joe. I'm happy to see the stupid Lamborghini stickers are gone from the front bonnet, I told Larry this summer it was the only detail that was wrong from my point of view. Car still with him?

    Yes still with him.

Those stickers were a 'personalized' touch that was added by the Japanese owner. Many people told Larry the same, and finally when they were removed so that the car could be polished, the replacement sets went 'missing' :)

I drove it a little bit last Monday for my photo-shoot and I have to say that it would be impossible to travel in that car for more than 30 mins. It is the LOUDEST car I have ever been in without noise-canceling headphones! (which I would highly recommend here).

    This car has HUGE charisma...

Forgot to mention: if he does indeed have that first chassis, then we know the 'stories' that have been proposed that the first chassis was used for a running car are indeed BS...
