Hello past and curent Stradale owners:

Recently picked up my Stradale and wanted to know is there any possiblity of damage to the gear box if always left in "race" mode. Based on the past experience with other F-cars I've always eased into or went from 1st to 3rd when cold; and I wonder if it would be better to leave it in normal mode until the car is warm.

    Thanks, David

I always drive in RACE mode unless the road is wet. I don't worry about it.

Mine never came out of race mode. I have been told several times that it is actually better for the clutch in race mode. True let her warm up and shift easy from 1st to 3rd but then game on :)

+++1... I drove my CS in race mode for three years and when it was put on the computer it had 10% clutch wear after 9600 milkes.

Must say the car drives smoother at 5MPH Stop sign to Stop sign in Race Mode. Now that there is fact that less clutch gets worn, I will never drive without it again. I'm just glad it still stays in Race even when you shut down and start up again.............CS...Best Car On Earth!!!!

Maybe wrong....maybe over simplifying......less clutch slip = less clutch wear. RACE MODE!

I would be very careful using race mode when the road is wet. It´s extremely easy to loose the back of the car, especially if its cold as well.
