    Any reason why because if i am reading it right it is his engine.

    I'm thinking they basically X-rayed the entire car looking for stress cracks, etc...even if they find an engine problem they can't change it without incurring the penalty...We'd all do the same given the circumstances...

    Seems like they changed the rule in 2007:

    ‘Except during the last Event of the Championship season, each driver will be permitted to use a replacement engine without incurring a penalty the first time this becomes necessary during the season.’
