Hi Lane, AVFPolo is very interested in attending the "south o' the border version" of the gathering in Rocky Hill. Will most likely continue on down to Black Horse to see their most excellent facilities. I've got the street address for S'Bucks. What time do the festivities usually begin and end? Thanks AVFPolo
Get some work in on the car now...that free time is going to end REAL soon! Best of luck with the new arrival...
I'm planning on being in Rocky Hill tomorrow morn...I'll see on road conditions tomorrow to see if the 355 or STi makes the drive. I'll get there around 9, stick around for an hour or two.
7:30...roads still wet at the bastage house... Seeing as how the season is near over, I don't much care about cleanups anymore. Figuring on arriving a little later than normal. I think Jay's time (9:00) sounds about right. Turnout will be a little low but I'm still Looking forward to it.
So guys, how was the trip down to Black Horse?? Was a great meet up today as always...and what luck with the weather!! Perfect day out there... Pics???
Sweet ride down Route 15 (through the tunnel, Yeehaaa). Arrived at the Garage at 12:15. Lots of supurb rides in the parking lot including a few perfectly restored Jags, Bentley and Rolls, a bunch of porkers, a 355, and a Nice boxer. Inside the building was another group of absolutely tremedous cars a 360 in mid major, another boxer (Azzure Blue, real nice color on that car) a couple of daytona's and 330's, a stunning 275 GT. I'm sticking to the Ferrari list but there were many more supurb examples of fine and exclusive auto's. The Open house was a bit formal but fun anyway. They are closing in on completeing a full restoration of a Jag SS1. It appears to be the only example left "ON THE PLANET". They have gone so far as sand casting and machining a new bronze carb body as none are available anywhere. Guess which DIPSCHLITZ neglected his camera yet again.... I think I'm just gonna give up on that. I always feel crappy when I fail to meet my own expectations...Best correct measure....Lower expectations. Thanks to all that turned out today, Peter, Jay, Jess...Ed, glad you could make it...Joe, looking forward to seeing that 355, Clay, great car (Eurospec 308), Patrick...What can I say, I love seeing that Countach. We were also joined by a gentleman in a sweet 1981 Audi Quattro...the 4th one built. Im not going to butcher your name but thanks for comming. Frank...you live like 5 miles away...are you afraid your gonna rack up the miles or something?
Driving home on the 72 - 84 interchange a red 355 pulled up next to me (I was on the 72 side, he was on the 84 side) - first time actually seeing a 355 on the road that wasn't part of our show or caravan! Not sure if that was Frank racking up the miles or someone else... It was quite a surprise to hear that characteristic Ferrari horn behind me!
Thanks to all the Rocky Hills CT "gatherers" for the great day !!! The weather was spectacular "south o' the border." The drive to Black Horse on Rt 15 was indeed wonderful. Great shop tour as fully detailed above by Saint Bastage. You'll have to ask Lane about the '53 vette body kit mounted on the '01(?) vette chassis. Never seen anything like it in my life. I also have no photos to offer. Brought the camera and plenty of fresh batteries and stowed them away in my special Ferrari travel kit. And there they stayed all day long. Sorry Lane. I should've taken some shots. Classic newbie wingman mistake. Mea culpa. Pleased to report that I even took the long way home in order to more fully enjoy the day. - Ed -
A few pics of the meet... Great to have AVF drive down with the gorgeous metallic green 355 (pics here don't do it justice), and camera was put away when Clay's Euro 308 arrived. As always a GREAT Sunday...I plan on driving mine until first snow leaves us with sandy and salty roads. Even then I'll be taking the 355 out monthly to give her some exercise. Sorry I couldn't join everyone yesterday. It was another nice sunny Sunday. We had family visiting all weekend. Sadly, they were not part of the car crazy side of the family so I had to find other ways to entertain them. I really wanted to get the Noble out for another run to Rocky Hill.
Thanks for the Pics J, at least you remember to bring a camera, some pics of black horse would have been nice, hint hint. Any way great weather. And great to see Ed down in our neck of the woods. J That was Frank with his 355 gtb you saw, I guess were not good enough for him to bring it out to the starbucks........
Checked the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir for the soft top pump and it's down approximately 1mm below minimum line. Looks like a matter of topping up (so to speak) the fluid. Oh I certainly hope that's all it is. So, new plan. I'll bring the fluid and hold the flashlight, UConn Husky can bring the wrenches, Lane can bring the beer. Thanks to Al Gore for inventing the internet. How did we ever fix these Fcars before FChat? Wonderful threads in the Technical section. Hope to be motoring top down by the weekend.
Another Sunday is upon us, weather looks good so I'll be there! And just for fun with the final F1 race in Brazil this weekend, some pics of Interlagos in Sao Paulo. I was in town once on business and figured I'd stop by...well the gates were open, so I drove right into the paddock and got to walk around. I doubt the same thing would happen at Indy... I'll be there with my winter apparel. 48º is the forecast high for the day. (tehehe...anyone else know how to make the º character)
I am coming over. My wife is going along. May be we could do some nice creative shots today. I'll bring my camera along

Ha...post #348, ya can't beat that..... Another sparkling day. I have to say how impressed I am with the turnout. You guys are simply the best. I truely thought the cold would reduce our numbers but...oh contrare. Can't wait to see Joe's 355 next week, a gentleman with a sweet viper stopped by just before I left. Arpy's Audi and Clay's euro 308 are just beautiful. Nice to see the Girls coming also. Matt was navigator to kate piloting the 348, That was just plain impressive. I know I could never do that without medication...
