Face it, we've had more "Massa Sucks" threads that we can remember... sometimes, even the "Massa Rules" threads turn sour.

If Massa wins the Race today, he might be able to redeem himself.

If he wins just the Race but not the Championship, the "Massa Sucks" comments will start pouring out...

And if he somehow manages to NOT win the race, what then?

I'm not a big Massa fan myself, but I feel for him, so part of me is still rooting for him.. :)

I remember a thread which had some positive comments about Massa's win in a race... and someone pointed out that "a DNF by Kimi does not mean excellence by Massa"... Can this guy catch a break?

I originally started that Thread, and I really hope it gets closed. Massa regardless of how the Championship ends up has done a terrific job this season and I admit i was wrong.

I hope them threads dont return.

I dont support him, I support the current "World Champion" (sorry)...however I respect that hes turned himself around this season and put himself in contention!

FIA helped him out IMO, and I dont think he would of been a worthy champion should he have won....however....

    1. He hardly SUCKS! He came 2nd, and F1 is the epitome of motorsport...you CANT suck if you are competing end of.
    2. I hope that next year the FIA keep thier meddling fingers out except where really need and LH and FM can have a more head to head battle.

Felipe.....condolenses, theres always next year :)

The "Massa sucks" thread should be replaced with a "Massa has bad luck" thread.

I mean is this guy ever going to win a World Championship?

Poor guy - good thing he had his home crowd to cheer the race victory or I think he would have really broken down up there on the podium.

    Agree 100%

Not to bang on the guy while he's down, but....

IMO the major reason he was so down today was because he knows this was his one shot. It was the perfect storm... the Ferrari being the fastest car on the grid by a large margin, and his teammate faltering. I don't think that will ever happen again.

Maybe I will be proven wrong, but I would bet anything I won't be.

He did what he could. But fact is, Hamilton didn't win this championship. Massa and Kimi lost it.

Well, my no is actually just a guess.

Nobody knows what next year holds. However my feeling is we will see the same two duking it out again. Massa did have a lot of bad luck this season, which he might not have next year. OTOH Hamilton probably learned this year how a title is won and that winning at all costs is sexy, but not the way to do it.

A Hamilton who manages his own aggression will be hard to beat next year.
A fast Massa who makes no more mistakes AND a Scuderia who makes no more mistakes will also be hard to beat next year.

I see a mildly motivated Kimi and an Alonso with a struggling Renault as the runner ups.

Why do I get the impression that the same people who insist that Massa can't be a champion also believe that you can't be a rock musician without smashing guitars on the stage? ;)

MASSA Rules. He would have been WDC if the team had not let him go with the hose or his car crapped out this year. I also think he was more than gracious to congratulate Lewis ( I was hoping he would do that, although I see McClaren as the focus of evil in the world).

Ferrari won the Constructors title and I believe especially in sports (maybe in politics well see on Wednesday) its not how you win it is how you lose that speaks volumes about what kind of competitor (and man or woman) you are.

He is my hero, current favorite driver and although I had my ron dennis voodoo doll out, and clutching a small rubber Ferrari horse, they were not enough. It almost worked on that last lap but alas did not.

I bought a signed Massa parking sign last month, and it is proudly displayed in my small collection!

    There is ALWAYS Next Year!!!!!!!!!

Some of you know me most do not but I AM; "Rob the Ferrari Guy".

Kudos to all, but this was massa's last chance. now kubica, hamilton, alonso and kimi will mean he never gets in contention again.

I now believe that Kimi's problem is not motivation, but his driving style. He has an easy style.. the Ferrari is easy on tires. Put it together and it's a car he can't get the tires heated up so he can't run well on them. When they "turn on", he is the fastest man on the grid, no exceptions. If Kimi was "on" this year, he would have wrapped up the WDC a couple races ago. I think that with an all-new car in 09, Ferrari can work out the bugs that make it a tough drive for Kimi. Then, I don't think Massa will stand a chance ever again of beating his teammate.

My .02... just an opinion :)

I think Massa will be in WDC contention next year as much as Kubica was in it this year.... an outlying shot to win, but not a serious threat. We shall see.
