The Car Experience have 58335 advertised on Anamera at "4,500km" which is less mileage than it had earlier this year when Tom H sold it with three times as many miles! Whatever. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A 288 GTO would have to be the easiest car in the world to disconnect the speedo. Just reach down under the rear bumper and unclip the cable............. I wouldn't believe anything with these cars that isn't fully documented and even then caution is the word. Condition and history is everything.
With CarFax, it's extremely stupid (not to mention unethical in the first place) to try to deceive a buyer regarding mileage. Considering how much information is out there regarding GTOs, it would have to be 10x as dumb to roll back the miles on one of those. Guys like Joe can probably call up the exact mileage on most GTOs at almost every point throughout their history.
I wouldn't put too much faith in Carfax, and yes ethics often go out the window where money is involved for some people. There is a lot of historical information out there; but nobody has everything on every car. The F50 is the first of the supercars that records the mileage on the cars ECU's. F40's are also prone to misrepresenatation.

Looks like a Ferrari dealership judging by the colors on the pillar in front of the car... Gr. Martin
The supplement that came with this months Octane also made mention of this. For those of you who admire the shape of the 288.
This sculpture inspired me to buy a spare Tamiya lexan 1:12 bodyshell and paint it over the protective plastic layer, looks almost the same doesn't it? Except mine is dusty. Image Unavailable, Please Login
