6th stop was Beijing, china. 5 days. they fixed up the airport for the olympics, and its really nice now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
we 1st chose to stay at the Raffles hotel. we got one of the personality suites. they have 9 suites they decorated to honor 9 famous world figure, using their personal items and pics for decoration. the idea was cool in the beginning. i was given the suite of Sun Yat Sen, who is the founder of the nationalism party, who overthrew the last dynasty in china and established a republic china. now thats all good. but later into the night it was freaky, there was strange noise going on all night in the suite, and all the pics and memorabilia were looking more and more scary in the dark, LOL. after 2 nights at the Raffles, we had enough, no disrepect to Sun Yat Sen but the whole idea of living in a suite decked out with some dead person's personal effects is just freaky. we moved to a suite @ st. regis, much more warm and normal feeling Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Sweet pictures! I regret having to work through the Shanghai F1, even if it was just to go back and party it up. I'm hoping to make it for next year, but looking at the schedule, it doesn't seem hopeful, but if I'm ever out there I'd love to meet up and hear your stories from your travels and buy you a drink (or 10, they're kinda cheap out there.)
Anyone here go to the California unveiling at M1NT last month? That was a lot of fun. I live in Hangzhou & drove out for the event in my 430 spider. That's Jet Li & Michelle Yeo sitting in the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
when was that? i left shanghai on 10/23 for hong kong. when did M1NT open? owned by the same M1NT in taipei 101? are you local or expat? we should catch up when i am in town next time.
I was just in Shanghai for 3 weeks. Saw a red 430 a few times and an SLR. Doesn't strike me as the best city to be driving one of these in. The traffic is nuts!
it's not worse than driving in new york city when ppl wanna open up their cars, they go on the hway in pudong such as the airport hway. a crappy vw santana taxi can do a solid 160+ km/h, i won't be shy about doing 300 in a ferrari.
Here are some pics I took during my half year internship in Hangzhou. I saw quite a lot of Ferraris there and also some in Shanghai. This nice 430 I spotted in june near the peoples square Martin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hi mahown, very nice pics from your trip. Thanks for posting all this I've also been to some of those places and your pics remind me af a very great time I had in China. Unfortunately I had to go back to germany in the end of september, so I missed the F1 GP. Martin
I guess NYC is worse, but I'm more concerned about the driving habits of all those cars and specifically the taxis. I got nervous several times when taking a taxi. I guess you just need to get used to it and know how it works. Also, Shanghai is the first city that ever forced me to look in all directions when crossing the street. In any case, I'll be moving back there for 3-4 months in February.
Guess Ferrari Shanghai doesn't move too many cars. As of the other day, the yellow F430 and red 599 were still there when I strolled by.
