    can anyone who knows recommend I add some redex petrol additive to my 355 to clean up the gummed out throttle butterflys..........or should I stay away from the stuff????

    It's an uper cylinder additive, also helps the injectors, but I think it may be harmful to the cats, you should check. Unlikely to help the sticking throttle IMO. Still believe that it's a linkage problem. Once the linkage and all joints are cleaned thoroughly, pivot bearing included, a little WD is all that is needed. I see too many caked in grunge after being sprayed randomly with white grease and similar 'lubricants'.
