Top Gear article detail states "no top", can this be true?

I believe they just mean no permanant roof. It still has a soft top.

What a simplistic article. No mention of Superfast 2, out of this world traction control, aero... Weight is only part of the Scuderia treatment

Jeremy C. of Top Gear was quite high on the 430 Scuderia. I think that they were just a little confused about the purpose of this Scuderia Spider 16M.

I thought the article was spot on in its simplicity: What's the point of this (heavier) car?

Just depends what you are able to do yourself, on my 430 Spider, I have Racing Seats (probably even lighter than the Scud ones - 30KG ), racing battery - 15KG, junked all the under carpets -5KG, tool kit - 5KG, Lowered the car on Challenge Wheels, then added ECU tuning and K&N air filters and you probably get the same result (except my rev limiter at 8,800 is marginally higher)

Have you driven a Scuderia? Dream on about your 430 Spider being the "same result". Superfast 2, aero and traction control...

not yet but somewhat already on the limits on the road with circa 510 Bhp as anyone would be .... and why do you want a Cabriolet Scud on the track with a helmet ??

The standard 430 spider may not be quite the same as a Scud spider, but it will cost only half as much. The decision will be 430 spider plus $200K in the bank versus Scuderia spider. As for performance, the Scud coupe will weigh much less than it's equivalent spider and will be the choice for those that want max performance. The Scud spider is strictly a money churner for Ferrari in an economy that no longer can sustain "regular" 430 spiders. Best.

Is the Scud Spider $200K more than a standard 430 Spider with OEM Carbon brakes etc nowadays, I rather doubt that....

i hope they do something about the roll hoops in the scud version. some track/groups wont let spiders on the track with the stock hoops esp if taller driver. would probably need a new roof design. should be manual to get weight down
