(See http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=174915 if you don't know/remember the controversy about this)

I've been a long time lurker and never really posted before, but I have been compelled to so for this:

I was watching Speed Channel today and saw a commercial for a special 3-episode series of Unique Whips. It showed the plot of each episode, one of which being 50 Cent and his 500+ hp G8 for SEMA '07. In the background I saw a red F40, red F50, and yellow Enzo parked at 50's place (same area as the video in OP), just like what was discussed in the provided thread link. I don't remember if he mentioned them in the commercial. I also found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhA14Uo_Lck; it was uploaded back in April, but 50 is wearing the same clothes as in pics on Speed's website so I'm pretty sure it's actual footage from the episode yet to air. If you find yourself watching Speed Channel, keep an eye out for it.

The F40, F50, Enzo and 599 that 50 claims are his actually belong to a well known collector from CT who is at the Hartford Concours every year.

There are some local athletes in my neck of the woods and they have lots of cars and nice ones, but -0- exotics. For some reason the exotics are not on the radar screen for these individuals

From the position of the cars, it seems it was shot on the same day as MTV cribs. I'm too lazy to check, but are his clothes the same?

It doesn't really matter if they are his or not, he can afford them and if I were in his position, I wouldn't want my cars on TV for security reasons.

Well, okay I understand that, but he shouldn't claim they are his. If he doesn't want his cars on TV, than he shouldn't have any cars in the background.

In the end money talks, I guess. They want him on the show, he'll say whatever they want.

If you were in his position would you want to give everyone a tour of your mansion? I think you and 50 have different views on that one but at the end of the day 50 has an image to maintain. 50 borrowed the cars because he wanted people to believe that they were his and he lives a life where he only drives the best of the best when in reality he probably lives at the mansion for a month or two out of the year and gets driven around rather than driving himself.

No, I sure wouldn't. But do we know if that's even his house? Who knows if 50 borrowed the cars or the production company did.

These guys belong to the cult of personality--they are famous for being famous. They get in your face and act like they have all this shizz, when, in fact, they are empty suits. (I know of 50 Cent's much trumpeted investment in Vitamin Water, but that's not all true either--he had partners in that deal.)

Think about the mighty who have fallen: Burt Reynolds, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kim Bassinger, Wayne Newton, MC Hammer, Larry King, Mike Tyson, Toni Braxton, George Clinton, Andy Gibb, Don Johnson, Shuge Knight, Leon Spinks, Sheryl Swoopes, Lawrence Taylor, Anna Nicole Smith, Dee Snyder, Willie Nelson, Ed McMahon. All of these have been bankrupt.

How about another kind of fall: JR Richard, Ryan Leaf, Tommy Morrison, Len Bias, John Bonham, well, you get the picture.

Why is it that we routinely see celebrities in the LAX Terminal? (Pierce Brosnan, Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Kid rock, Prince, etc.) They could charter a plane or fly into another airport away from the Paparazzi, but they LOVE the attention.

For people like this, image is more important than anything, and they are actually pathetic. They lie to themselves and think they are important. They want to be seen, instead of being happy.

yes, 50 is wearing the same clothes, and that spot was shot at the same time as the MTV cribs. Definitely not his cars, as I know whose they actually are.

I know where you're coming from but that defenitely is his house. Famously belonged to Mike Tyson prior to 50. Plus there's the wall size portraits of 50 in the strip club and all the G-Unit logos scattered across the house :)

Arguing physical title regarding an individual that is worth north of $100 million is semantics IMO. If thats what he wants people to believe he owns, all the power to him. The guy has great taste is automobiles and he currently has the bank accounts to consumate the transactions.

I noticed on a upcoming episode of Speed TV's Unique Whips (urgh...) Will Castro is butchering another car for whatever the hell his name is, in one shot of whatever the hell his name's home, those same Ferraris discussed so many times before appear yet again. Tune in & see, if you can.

So, let me get this straight . . . you are saying that it is OK to go on TV and, for a full episode of television, present completely fraudulent (false) state of facts, as long as that is what you "want" people to believe? The truth does not matter even a little bit?

Eh, the producer/rapper Mannie Fresh lives here in New Orleans and is a big car guy. I've seen him around town for the past 10 years in anything from 67 Cameros, to a 355, 360, and a 430 just about a month ago. None of the Fcars I have seen him in have ridiculous wheels or trim.

I agree with you on many levels... and most rappers are... but 50 is a lil differnt. I believe his net worth is somewhere around the 300 million range. not your typical beat boxin, chain wearin, rimz be spinnin ignorant retard. He is one of the more respectable guys in the industry. READ THE LAST SENTENCE CAREFULLY.

I didnt see the episode so I cannot comment of the lies he told. However in the context of this discussion, if you are asking me if I have issue with a guy worth $100+ million stating that he owes a few Ferrari's when in fact they were loaners, the answer would be no. I would go further to say, if I ever had the opportunity to meet Curtis Jackson, on the surface one of the few things I have in common with the guy is love of Ferrari's, one of my first commens would be "you have some beautiful cars".

I'll try to relate it to my profession. You can short stock as much as the regualtion allows, come day of settlement if you cannot deliver, thats when we have a problem.

Well if you ever do meet him, tell him that you have an F50 and see if he says "me too!" because according to 50 himself, that is pretty much the only reason that he "has" one.
