That was quick!!! I wonder in what part of the world will P4 spend Christmas? It will be very well travelled by then.....
Sweet...can't wait to see more pics! Nice camera btw. There's only one small problem I see with it tho.................it's not a Canon.
well figure I'll ship it out of here sometime next week, it'll get to you in a couple weeks... and then on from there - maybe Australia? And what, prey tell, is wrong with my Nikon? Canon and Nikon both make great gear, with glass that is pretty comparable - basically it comes down to preference (fanboyism) I just got the 70-200 2.8 yesterday, and I must say it's impressive - if not a bit intimidating.
Lol! Just ribbin' ya a little, Nikon boy. Nikon has come along way in the last few years...........and they're gettin' there. Seriously tho, Nikon makes an excellent camera and some incredible lenses. It really does come down to personal preference...and whether you like the look of white lenses or black ones. Congrats on the new 2.8! That lense is outstanding!! I've shot with Canon for years so I just had to keep the friendly rivalry alive.
Two words, Canon Clarity! I love mine. I have an XTi and soon to have a 40D, I've got a 70-200 2.8. Excellent lens!
I shot Canon film cameras all through college and for a few years after. Then I shot with a friends Nikon D1H and made the switch to Nikon. Been shooting Nikon Digital exclusively for about 4 years now. Started with my D100 and moved up to the D2x right after the D3 came out. Check out some of my fuzzy Nikon shots on my website - www.red-photo.net
Really beautiful work Roy! My father shot Canon since I was little. That's all I knew so I just continued with Canon when I started and have never been disappointed. However I only shoot slide film so I'm still old school. I just use a point and shoot for quick dig stuff. I strictly shoot landscape and still prefer the look of film over digital in that style. I'll soon be moving over to 4X5...absolutely love Large format! Here's a few of mine - My Landscape Pics
Goodness. Those are some stunning pics! Which one? (I'm going to guess the front shot of the 288 on the green)
Thanks Robbie! I have a bunch of the Northern Lights shots. They're so spectacular and majestic to watch. Both those shots were taken at the same spot around the same time between midnight and 2am. That little lake is 30 min hike from the road. Temp was around 6 degrees...freakin' cold but those shots made it all worth it.
Thanks Roy! I'm thinking of starting a small gallery sometime...we'll see. I like both! The 288 has a gorgeous contrast against the green and I like the way you kept the tires in the shot of the 250...gives you the sense of a raw racing feel. The footprints in the sand pic is really cool too!
Yep, it's there... How old is your son? The drawing was pretty good, I thought. Perhaps I'll scan it an post it for all to see.
He's nine and wants to get as good as Ferrariartist. He saw the postcard from Ontario and went to work. Now he seems to spend alot of time drawing different Ferraris. Last night he was working on a 250 LM. I think he would be honored if you posted it.
Would it be ok if I were to hold on to the P4 until my GMP P4 arrives late this coming week/early next week - so that I can take pics of the two together? At most I think it would extend the stop in KC from 7 to 10 days...
Sounds ok to me, but we reallllly have to stick to the rules from here on out to keep this thing on the move. The rule is 7 days, but it would be cool to see it with its big brother
If the GMP P4 accidentally falls into the box and comes for a ride, I will take very good care of it Just joking, sounds good Roy, I'm ready and waiting. It would be great to have it here for the 21st, I know that is pushing it but I have a gathering on the 21st that would make a nice photo. There is another gathering early December that will be good, but no quite as interesting as the one on the 21st. Ether way, it's about to head down under!!
